I have started my fusion quilt and am slowly getting it done. its 100 squares which will be 250x250cm quilt. Kaffe Fasseet has also made a few lovely ones with his fantastic fabric range.

Pardon my ignorance......what is a fusion quilt?

I did not know what it was either so I checked google. It seems to be some kind of fused applique process. I signed up for a free pattern since it was a teapot and cup...I love teapot patterns/applique ...seems interesting..

From what I understand these are
Crochet and fabric quilts.
Patchwork is joined together using your choice style of crochet that is what the blanket stitch on each block is used for. The squares are like completed mini quilts with the seams already done. The ones I saw had backing and batting along with your top fabric and had been turned and sewn around then blanket stitches with yarn or crochet yarn to be joined. Some can have some pretty fancy joining.

Interesting technique I have never heard of it in the states. Lucky your cat decided not to lay on your quilt!!
