That quilt is just soooooo beautiful, the roses look great wait i can smell them now. :)

Yooper32 08-09-2012 04:03 AM

I love it, it looks like a whole pile of rose petals. I can almost smell the essence.
Big PS, I wrote the above from page 3. Little did I know that when it cam out on page 5, I had said virtually the same thing.

I Love It! This would go in my new bedroom beautifully. Just painted walls a pretty pink with white woodwork and the curtains I just hung are white background with beautiful roses all over. I need to go hunting to see if I can find some fabric like yours. Love it.

I am also reading the Elm Creek series and just finished Round Robin. Love her stories.

gramquilter2 08-09-2012 05:02 AM

It is great to finish a UFO isn't it. It is a bright colorful quilt, mistakes won't matter to anyone who gets to curl up under it.

terri bb 08-09-2012 05:20 AM

very very pretty! im sure it will be snuggly! i love snuggle quilts, they are great!

carolynjo 08-09-2012 05:24 AM

I love it! You will enjoy the roses for years to come, especially when cold weather comes and the real roses are asleep.

clawson556 08-09-2012 05:28 AM

I really like it!

Karen1956 08-09-2012 05:30 AM

I LOVE it!!! It will be cheery on a drab winter or rainy day.

bibi 08-09-2012 06:03 AM

Ronda, Only on book two. I treated myself to three of the three-in-one hardcovers. Love it. Up to Round Robin and Bonnie's stinky husband having a computer affair.

When I got to that part of the novel I looked so angry that my husband started to wonder if he had said something to upset me.

Lovely fabrics, by the way, and there is definitely more to life than perfect corners and points.

GeePatti 08-09-2012 06:54 AM

There's nothing to be ashamed of, here. I'm sure this will be a family heirloom. Glad you didn't throw anything out!

#1piecemaker 08-09-2012 06:58 AM

I love roses!!! Your quilt is soooo pretty! You did a good job in my opinion!!!

littlelambseativy 08-09-2012 07:26 AM

Mmmmmm. I can almost get a whiff of those roses! So pretty!

maxnme01 08-09-2012 07:59 AM

Just call it a new version of the square on point! I LOVE it!

pal 08-09-2012 08:25 AM

Your quilt is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! Re: your husband, the Quilt Police. Whenever I make something and show it to DH, I ALWAYS start with "I made this, isn't it beautiful!". And he hasn't the heart to give an honest opinion - and that's the way I like it!

I read this a long time ago, and it stuck with me "Give me your convictions, if you have them - but keep your doubts to yourself, for I have enough of my own."

MimiBug123 08-09-2012 08:49 AM

I would quilt it gently and the boo-boos will hardly show. This would be like being wrapped in a lovely bouquet!

Wow!
Snuggled up in front of a fireplace seems like a distant thought with temps in the 90's! But my Dear Krystyna what better way to enjoy those novels on a blustery winter day but snuggled under a bed of roses when summer days seem so far away. I love roses and rose fabric....so that equals I really, really like this quilt! Hugs to you my friend!

quiltingcurious 08-09-2012 11:39 AM

Gorgeous, gorgeous rose fabric, beautiful quilt to cuddle up with or just to gaze at, you could get lost in all those beautiful roses!

flybreit 08-09-2012 11:43 AM

It's very happy looking! And it's good for us to look back and see how much we have learned....and how much we can enjoy a quilt even if some of the points don't match. It's beautiful - enjoy every minute under it reading!

Krystyna 08-09-2012 12:35 PM

Thank you all for your kind comments. Now I just need to figure out what backing fabric to use ... to tie or not to tie? Double batting or no? Decisions, decisions! :)

Iraxy 08-09-2012 12:51 PM

Who cares? It is roses and it is pink. Go girl!

Latrinka 08-09-2012 01:36 PM

It's very pretty!

par4theday 08-09-2012 03:35 PM

beautiful quilt, and finishing a UFO, I love to see finished. way to go!!

Lynnejean 08-09-2012 03:50 PM

WOW quite beautiful!

trolleystation 08-09-2012 04:38 PM

Just 'busy' enough that the points are not noticeable.

grandmaemma 08-09-2012 05:30 PM

I like it...pretty colors. Thanks for sharing :)

TacoMama 08-09-2012 05:42 PM

It is such a beautiful rose quilt, just like you are in a rose garden. It reminds me of the roses in some old plates that my Grandmother had and I was lucky enough to get them when she passed away. Thanks for posting.

Illsa 08-09-2012 07:30 PM

Love your roses and the assembly of all the different fabrics. Points??

I too have trouble making those points always come out as points. What's the secret? Some of mine are perfect and some are not. Why? I cut the same and always use 1/4 " seam. Illsa

yonnikka 08-09-2012 07:35 PM

Thank goodness you did not retain pointy points; softening the look is so much better, rounding off like the rose petals in the prints. good job.

1screech 08-09-2012 08:46 PM

Roses are my favorite flower. I don't see anything but pleasure reading while snuggling with this quilt. Beautiful fabric.

Quilt27 08-12-2012 10:26 AM

Perfection is to strive for...We live in a real world, you've made a real quilt, you're adaptable. It could be your favorite quilt ever. It's like those 'compare the pictures, find the 5 differences'. After you find the differences, who cares?

Peggy Jeanne 08-12-2012 11:31 AM

Don't quilt is too much, so it will be a soft cuddly snuggle quilt! Very pretty!

fleurdelisquilts.com 08-12-2012 11:42 AM

I love, LOVE, rose fabrics. They are getting a bit difficult to find now, except for Ro Gregg's work. The colors are absolutely wonderful. As for the points, if the quilt is for yourself, who cares? I agree with Quiltermomma about the thick poly batting and light quilting.....the quilt will be soft and yummy and fewer boo-boos will show. And snuggling will be so fun, especially with a good book! Enjoy!

ctmhjenn 08-13-2012 08:40 PM

If you made the effort to finish this then it deserves the tittle ... "done to perfection". It is for you! I think you did a rosy job...I love it.

jansquiltn 08-14-2012 12:39 AM

Isn't it wonderful to see how far we've come on our quilt journey. Even with the chopped off corners it is a beautiful quilt and all quilts are lovable. Quilt the heck out of it and curl up and read, read, read.

orangeroom 08-14-2012 01:59 AM

It's like you stepped out into a beautiful rose garden all in bloom! It will still keep you warm, whether it's perfect or not. I thought I read somewhere "Only God is perfect. Our quilts don't need to be."

Jammin' Jane 11-07-2012 03:02 PM

Oh, what a gorgeous quilt! It looks so pretty! :)
