Dragonfly, I will gladly send you some of the blue~assuming that I have some!! I bought it at a quilt shop I am going to today and they may still have it~will check when I go if I used all of it.
Karen, I'm glad you like my first round addition! I thought the white areas would be a great place for some neat quilting. If the completed quilt called for it, you might also applique something in that area, but I decided not to, even though I did think about it! Any of you feel free to add to my rounds when the quilt arrives home! We did have a refreshing short trip to KY. One of the nicest times we've had on the few trips we've taken. Yaya~you are quite the traveler~my hubby and I will have to learn how to do that! We seem to be home bodies, enjoying what our hobbies are here. I tell myself we ought to travel more and see the country. I love my country, isn't it beautiful everywhere? I am looking forward to working on Tam..moos top! The fabrics she chose means I will be shopping for my round and do I ever love to do that!!! Tam..moo is around, I see her posting in the swaps and I received a wonky log cabin block from her this past week! Thanks, Tammy, it is a favorite of mine! I was given a 20 dollar gift certificate from friends recently to a quilt shop and I'm heading there this morning~it's been burning a hole in my pocket, as my Dad used to say to me whenever I had a dime or two! Take care, all you "blue robins"~happy sewing. Nancy. |
Nancy - have fun spending that GC! What a wonderful way to spend part of your day.
No problem if you don't have any scraps of the blue left - and I do mean scraps as it is for applique - I just thought I would ask. Judith PM'd me earlier that she has some she will be sending. I like the "Blue Robins" Should we adopt that as our group name? |
Paula, I do have enough to send you some of the blue! I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. N.

Here is Tam -moo's Center with the first border made of "Piano Keys!" Hope you like it Tammy! |
Karen - that looks great! I love the way you extended the yellow/gold out into your round. It almost has an Asian Screen feel too it.
Yeah for scraps! - Thank you Nancy. |

Ok ladies - here is each metamorphosis side by side so far. Drooling is allowed but remember to wipe your keyboard :D

I agree that Tam...oo's block has an Asian feel to it from the center floral fabric! What yaya added was perfect, and it really opens up the fabric choices with all the different prints used. I'm impressed~and will be thinking what to add to it next!
I love seeing these all together and now we just need to see Paula's!! |
Yaya do you have mine? Could you post a picture of it?
|
And SewHappys too. Oooo, pretty. I LOVE the piano key look to TamMoo's. I get excited to see each round. I look forward to see the progression on SewHappy's and Paula's. Paula, thanks for the side by side pictures. Your pretty darn good with your computer!!!
|
They all look so pretty their really taking shape. Paula I love how you put them all together that is a
Amazing. Thank you!! I can't to see mine and Paula's on here with the rest of them. |

Here is sewhappy's center.........hmmm.......what to do next!?!?! I do have two perfect fabrics that coordinate.......just need to put my creative cap on to decide what to add. |
Lovely addition to Sewhappy's. I didn't mean to overlook you, Gina! I miscounted and thought only one was missing!;) The white framing the green really makes it look good!
Well, it's not framing it! It's separating the green from the center, anyway, I like it. |
I love it!!!! Believe it or not Tam...moo that's kinda what I had in mind, I like how it has framed the center so that the center pops out. That's the same way I did Paula's. I didn't want the first border to take away from her center because it was so beautiful.
Now we need Paula's!!! |
Paula, Fabric went out to you Friday morning. You'll probably have it by Monday or Tuesday.
Gena, I love what was done with your center. The color is spot on. And, I love how it frames your Carpenters Wheel. I haven't yet decided what to add to yours yet. :) Good thing I have time. Yaya, I would be in heaven if my daughter moved in with me when her new little one arrives. But, that is not going to happen. Her and her hubby just bought a new house and moved in yesterday. :( But, seriously, I am very happy for them. I just won't get to be a hands on grandma the way I would like to be. So, revel in the chaos for me. :) I meant to say earlier also, like Jillnjo, I love all the color choices you used in the piano keys. It add so much fun and dimension. Blue and yellow is such a soothing color to work with for me. (I love working with the color blue especially. The yellow will add a much needed new direction for me.) |

Now....I wonder what mine looks like?????? :D Judith & Nancy - thank you again for sending the fabric. I will let you know when they arrive. |
I just love the piano keys addition to my center. I have the beautiful batiks center...it is stuning...hope I can add something you will like.

Blue Robins Great thinking Nancy!
Hey Gena - Can we get the name Blue Robins added to the heading of our thread? That is if everyone agrees and likes the name. |
I love the Blue Robins for our name
|
Hey Tammy, could you post a picture of the batiks center you have before you start on it please?
|
I love the side by side pictures. Sometimes it's hard to remember what it looked like in the before. All of your centers are beautiful, Blue Robins.

Gena--it just dawned on me that your center is from paintmejudy's 2nd Mystery Train!!! That's cool-----I have all my pieces cut out to make that mystery, but I have so many other WISP's to finish first. Currently I am trying to finish sewing "boom Swap Blocks" together to finish some charity quilts!! I did sew two together at my quilt retreat and have 2 more ready to sew together. |
Can't wait to see them all.
|
I finished Gena (sewhappy)'s center with the 2nd round border yesterday. I love how it turned out!!! It is packaged and ready to take to the post office. I can post a picture if it's ok with you, Gena!
|
Yaya-did you send me Tammy's center? I have not received it as of today. I don't remember you telling me you were, either! But I see you have a second round done, so it makes me wonder. Hope it's not lost somewhere!

Woo hoo - that will be the first three picture side-by-side!
I am still waiting to see mine :( |
I'm so sorry Paula that I did not take a picture of yours before I mailed it. I'm still trying to contact Tammy to have her post a picture, not having much luck though.:(

So I will mail both at the same time--sorry about that jillnjo |
It's OK Gena. I am just teasing a bit. ;)
Tammy indicated early on that her heavy work schedule right now doesn't allow her much time for "chatting" |
No problem, yaya! I'm just glad you have it safe and sound.

@wildyard: I made my ribbon border using Eleanor Burns' instructions, found in her book "Victory Quilts."
Here's some free patterns for borders, including the ribbon border: http://quilterscache.com/B/Borders.html (I haven't made any of these borders from this site). |
I Love it Karen!!! It is so pretty. You done a great job. I like ribbon borders. I'm sure I will add one somewhere before this round robin is over.
|
Thanks for the info!
|
Karen - that ribbon border is a super addition.
And who doesn't love Miss Eleanor - one of my personal heros. |
yaya~the two centers arrived today. And to see them in real life is to see just how beautiful they are! Pictures do not do them justice! I will be thinking about Tammy's first. Have to look at it a bit and let my mind come up with some good thoughts about where to go with the next round.
