Just for fun, thought I'd share a picture of my sewing setup when we were living in our RV fulltime.
Our unit has a king size bed in it. The mattress lifts for storage, and that's where I kept my fabric and thread stash for the most part. In the photo you can see a few narrow baskets on top of the slide out over the TV. Our 5th wheel has 4 slideouts, and I had all of them lined with these baskets, and they stored fat quarts, charm packs, threads, and patterns. There was a fireplace under the TV, but I had hubby remove it and install 2 cabinet doors for more sewing paraphenalia. All in all, it wasn't bad! |
Very clever and tidy!!! Fun and interesting pic-thanks!!! ETA: I love to see othet folks' sewing rooms, but I hate it when the machines are covered. Guess I like seeing machines in their habitats, sort of like the zoo.

I love it! Can't wait to show hubby this
I can't wait to try it...only 30 more year until retirement :-). Set up looks great!!
Now that's cool...My hubby would love this also...He's been talking for yrs abt hitting the rd in an RV
I have to caution you, this is a major hassle if you move every few days, LOL
I'm envious of this way of living. My husband is not one for RV. What a nice set up!
What a great set up! The whole idea of being "on the road" for a while is to do what you like. You are obviously doing just that--congratulations!
Can't wait to show your picture to my mom who is a full time rv'er and quilt maker. She has fabric stashed all over their rv. She has considered taking out one of the chairs to make more room for fabric. It is amazing at all the stuff you can pack into one of those rvs. Thanks for sharing your picture.

Too Cool, will keep this in mind.
What a perfect set up.
Wow you can get a lot done with this setup. Nothing like quilting while traveling down the road.
Very cool!
Very nice set up. I would like to have that nice of a place at home. Mine isn't quite that pretty. Oh well, it works.
oh that looks so neat. i didn't quilt when we bought our motor home. (we also bought the Government a smaller motor home at the time-taxes!!!). we are home bodies now so i can quilt all i want without going anywhere.
How clever. I only set my machine up on the kitchen table, or do handwork while out of town. We're alot smaller, but still my choice of travel.
That's an RV??? Wow! I could be very comfortable in one of those!
Wow that is so cool, Do you have enough for an extra quilter LOL

Aren't you clever! Thanks for sharing. We RV some but not full time. I love your setup!

Wonderful use of space in your RV. Thanks so much for sharing how you set it up.

  CJ: Gorgeous RV!! Great use of space!! Our RV floorplan is slightly different than yours. However, my machine sits in the same place, where our computer should be... I think it's a much better use of space for a sewing machine  Fireplace stayed so I can always be warm while sewing!
I love your idea of pretty baskets above your slide out!! Functional and pretty!! I turned the tv cabinet in the bedroom into my miniature sewing room. Nearly all my sewing supplies and projects fit in there. Anything larger goes under our king sz bed also, like my cutting mat and Sew Steady Portable table. We are not fulltimers, but we do travel for extensive periods of time as we are Volunteer State Park Hosts. We feel truly Blessed to live the RV lifestyle, it's been our dream that we are able to live out now that we retired. We worked long and hard to get to this point! :-D RV's are not what they used to be, if you haven't been in one lately, check one out!! King sz beds, surround sound, flat screens, microwave/ convection ovens, central vaccuums, fireplaces, dishwashers... etc etc...seriously, some even have a 2nd bath with a jetted tub! They literally are beautiful, comfy homes on wheels. Thanks for sharing your beautiful RV and great use of space, you have given me a few more ideas!!... uh-oh... did I just hear my poor hubby groan??? |
I love this!!!   Naomi

Very creative!
RV? as in a vehicle?? Wow...I didn't know they were so big and comfy. What a great space.
(methinks me hasn't lived much in my 50 odd years..lol) |
You are soooo lucky! It is great!
Love your picture, you really have it all well thought out. DH just purchased me the seweze this year for the RV.
I pretty much do the same as you, people often wonder if my husband is a bachelor, because they never see me, I'm always attached to my sewing machine.....LOL He is a reader, always has his nose in a book - he should have been a scholar. |
I see a reorganization ahead for our travel trailer! We don't have as much space as what I see in your pictures, but you've definitely given me an idea or two....thanks much :)
