Can you post a photo of your original fabric or don't you have enough left. It is always fun to see what you start with on a S & W.

Unfortunately, I'm presently separated from my main stash, and what I had left of that fabric is in it :(

[QUOTE=KyKaren1949;5024950]I would love to see the fabric you used before making the quilt. Also, did you use a pattern? Love the pinwheels but have no idea how to insert those.[/QUOTE

So sorry, as I mentioned to Judy above, that fabric's in my stash many states away at the moment! The basic pattern is found in the book "Magic Quilts by the Slice" by Bethany Reynolds. I changed the size of mine, and added the pinwheels in place of the solid block they used between the sashing pieces. Thanks for your interest..I looked recently and they are still selling that book online, even though it's several years old.

I love your stack and whack. Could you share what the original fabric looked like? Do you put a segment of the original fabric on the back. I've seen some S&W quilts here that have done that and it's always such a delight to see how the fabric is transformed. Your placement is just beautiful too!

So sorry I don't have any of that fabric to show! That is a good idea, though, I never thought of putting a piece of the uncut fabric on the back to show what it originally looked like. Thanks for the tip :)

Fantastic quilt. I truly like the way you set the blocks. If I were at your show I would buy lots of tickets.

This is so very gorgeous. Are S&W patterns difficult to make? I'm a newbie quilter and would love to try this pattern but am a little intimidated with this - what do you think?

Thank you, Holly! I don't think S & W's are particularly hard, just kinda painstaking working with the fabric repeat and lining up all the layers of fabric in the exact same spot. I don't think it'd be too hard for you, it would just depend on how much patience you'd want to expend! The main thing is to have a good instructional book. The one I used on this quilt is "Magic Quilts by the Slice" and I know there's other good ones out there. I love making them, and think it's worth all the work involved. Good luck if you decide to do one and I'm always on here if I can be of any assistance. God Bless!

Could you please post a picture of the fabric before you whacked it. I always find the results very fascinating.

So sorry! Everyone has been curious to see that fabric, but right now my stash is in Alaska and I'm in Oklahoma!
