I made 12 blocks for the raspberry chocolate block swap...I loved my block so much I bought more fabric and decided to make a whole quilt with that block..I think it turned out pretty. A friend of mine is having a baby with a jungle/safari theme...so I bought these fat quarters and put this quilt together yesterday...both of them on one day...very easy patterns!

Beautiful, do you do anything else but sew? You must top all in making perfect quilt tops. How long have you been quilting?

Great job, I love to search out your tops.

LoisN 02-10-2010 08:38 AM

They are both beautiful.

samroberts01 02-10-2010 08:45 AM

Those are both so nice! The safari one is so cute without being to overly safari, love the fabrics.

Sugarpumpkin 02-10-2010 08:56 AM

Two beautiful quilts

Gorgeous! I love the square in a square 2. I just bought fabric yesterday to do one for my GD. She loves ladybugs (we call her Haileybug). I just need to find some fabric with daisies on it to be the 3rd color.

What pattern did you use in the safari block? It is very impressive.

I know the D9P, can you tell me how/where to find the other pattern? I googled it but can't seem to find it.

The other pattern is on quilter's cache...it is called squares within squares 2. I actually used the same pattern with different fabrics a few weeks ago.....
HEre is the link..looks completely different:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-33715-1.htm
It was a mix of materials..so you couldn't actually see the pattern it creates with just 3 different fabrics..but still pretty....there is another way to arrange the blocks as well to see a whole different pattern...very versatile!

Debo 02-10-2010 12:58 PM

They are both beautiful but I love the chocolate-raspberry color combination.

YEs..I do alot of other things..hehe!
I just happen to love sewing ...so when I have a spare minute or two I get a quilt done!
I have been quilting for about 9 years......but didn't actually take a beginning quilting class until about 6 years ago...then I really took off...

nursie76 02-10-2010 01:15 PM

Charismah - Thanks for the info and link to your other quilt. That is one gorgeous quilt! That would look great with some of the oriental fabrics I have been collecting.
