WOW you have done a terrific job repairing it and I like the idea of the sunbonnet sue addition. It does kinda look like she is standing on a snowball or maybe a stepping stone in the garden, I like that idea even better. Great job and well worth passing on. thanks for sharing.

I like how you solved a problem, with Sue walking in the garden. love it. joyce j

I took a pic of the quilt laid on the bed and must admit to be rather chuffed with the result as initially I thought the Sunbonnet Sue appliqué would look odd but I think she looks rather nice in her garden.

I will make a couple more Sue's just in case as this quilt is another one the Muffin likes to rumple up into a nice bed for herself :)

You have done a good job there. I cut one of my quilts once using a rotary cutter while trimming the edges ready for binding. I cut a clean V shape through a fold of the quilt which was underneath. My heart went into my boots, I felt sick and I stood almost motionless for minutes wondering what to do next. I thought over a cup of tea and decided all was not lost. I used fusible thin vilene which I slipped in under the top fabric, sticky side up covering the clean V cut and gently fused the edges back together. It worked a treat. Then I stitched it for security. Phew! Your idea of appliqué is a good one. Nice to read a post from the UK.
