I posted the first pictures of these blocks exactly a month ago( January 15 th and today is February 15th!)... AND now it's done!!!!!

Here's all 35 blocks of the sampler quilt. I am going to use solid navy blue for sashing and borders. I am SO happy to be finished this.

After much deliberation I think we'll be using the finished quilt in our motor home for the bed cover. I really can't see using it anywhere in the house... it just doesn't fit in here!

It looks like a day well spent!

What bright "spots" in a snow day. Love them! I have the flowered fabric but have never used it --it looks great.

barnbum 01-15-2008 07:15 PM

Under each picture I put what I think the names are. I got some of these blocks from Quilter's Cache.

jbsstrawberry 01-16-2008 01:58 PM

I think they are WONDERFUL! Ya know what they remind me of, those really neat flags they use in boating. They made me think of a warm summers day, kicked back on a boat, on clear, clean blue water. Sipping lemonade and enjoying watching hubby and the girls fish off the side. Thanks for creating such warm thoughts!!! Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see how they progress from here!

Pam Pollock 01-16-2008 02:19 PM

VERY NICE! TIME WELL SPENT!

If you can find out the names, just go to google and type in the name and up will come the instructions... type in quilters cache and there will be photos of blocks, you might be lucky....

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!!! I am a fan of muted shades and fall colours... so I guess this is my walk on the WILD side!

Goose Creek, Basketweave, Fourth of July, Arkansas Crossroads and Austin...

I checked my binder and they are all from Quilter's Cache. They are all 12" blocks.

jbsstrawberry 01-16-2008 06:34 PM

Well I think your Wild Side is just wonderful. You should explore there more often  :)

Celeste 01-17-2008 05:55 AM

Ooh! I wish I could be that productive! And what a wonderful way to spend a snow day!

Mamagus 01-18-2008 04:07 PM

So motivated by all your good wishes... I have finished several more blocks and hope to do more this weekend!

Still hoping that sleeping under this wild quilt won't cause nightmares!

lisae 01-18-2008 04:30 PM

newquiltertoni 01-18-2008 05:25 PM

Awesome job! Can't wait to see them all in a quilt. Hope you post the pic.

yoya_english 01-19-2008 09:51 PM

These are wonderful blocks. The colors are just fabulous. They are
inspiring to me and motivate me to get going on my project :). :!:

I'm in Ohio, the temperature outside right now is 0 degrees. Looking at
your quilt blocks warms me up  .

Mamagus 02-15-2008 01:43 PM

I am so pleased with the block!

jbsstrawberry 02-15-2008 02:10 PM

I love them even more than before!!! Great job!! I think a "travel" quilt couldn't get any better than this one!! Can't wait to see more updates!! But, could live with no more snow days!! LOL

Lois-nounoe 02-16-2008 01:08 PM

Do you do that too, Mamagus? Print out and save the blocks you see and put them in a binder? I have a binder for blocks, one for the newsletters, and one for the quilt patterns that I print out, design, or just find at the stores. I'm making my own book of blocks! :D :D (That don't count my mags, books, and other stuff that I am hoarding.) Quilting is DEFFINATELY and ADDICTION! :D

Mamagus 02-16-2008 03:22 PM

Quilting is beyond an addiction... Today right in the middle of painting my bathroom I started thinking about a quilted cover for the laundry hamper... down went the paint brush and off I went to the sewing room!

sandpat 02-16-2008 03:46 PM

Mamagus...you did a great job on all those blocks! I can't wait to see the entire quilt..I'm picturing the blue sashing and I really like the idea.

What color did you say your hubby sees when he looks at the blue??

Mamagus 02-16-2008 05:24 PM

He sees purple... but he agrees with me that navy is navy!

Lois-nounoe 02-16-2008 07:32 PM

Deffinately need help!!! Can I come and help??

Dawn Hendrix 02-17-2008 06:38 AM

OO you did SUCH a GREAT job! I am sure you are proud.. GREAT WORK! What an accomplishment!

Kyiav10 02-17-2008 12:39 PM

Great work. I'll take it if it down't fit in your mobile home!

I love your colour choices!! the blocks look fabulous!! Once you finish your quilt and get it in your motor home, then drive from Bonavista to here in St. John's!!! we can go fabric shopping LOL!!!
I hope you will post photos when it is complete!

Cheers

live2teach 02-17-2008 09:26 PM

You work very fast. Those are all great blocks. I can't wait to see them all together.

Feathers 03-27-2008 08:11 AM

Mamagus:
I just revisited your quilt sampler as I think it's so pretty. Also wanted to comment on your fuzzy baby in the right hand corner of one of the pictures. It looks like a mini-Schnauzer dog. Is it? We lost our granddog mini-Schnauzer last year and still miss her. That breed of dog is wonderful. Thanks for again inspiring me with your lovely quilt.

Harmony 03-27-2008 08:16 AM

I agree with everyone else--this is a very summery quilt, which will make it a great choice for the motor home! I hope you'll post pictures again when you get the sashings on and stick it all together!

Oh Yes... that is Gus the mini-schnauzer. I put a quilt on the floor he has to sit on it. We call him the foreman; whenever we have a workman here in the house, Gus follows him and sits watching him work. Even tried to climb a ladder once!

Feathers 03-27-2008 10:09 AM

How funny, Mamagus. What your describe as the "foreman" is so like our baby was. She wanted to be right there in the thick of things. She was so wonderful and we loved her so much. We're still missing her. She had to go to heaven at 16 1/2 yrs old last year. She had heart failure, was blind, deaf and we just had to make the decision that we'd been trying to avoid until it became very clear that all of her loves and her quality of life had diminished to the point it was inhumane for us to make her continue. Enjoy your baby and give him a hug for us.
