Santa came early......

I've been researching/test driving longarms for just about a year now. She is finally here and is very happy in her studio. We knocked out a wall between two small bedrooms and she fits nicely. I told hubby maybe we should extend the front of the house about 4 ft....he just snickered. Anyway, I decided on the A1 Longarm, no computer.... 12ft table with hydraulic lift on table, very very nice to have. Quite the challenge to get her inside...took 4 of us adults (including my rep, her VERY buff Son, me and hubby) to get this monster table thru the window...crazy eh?
Here she is..... |
you will enjoy it.... have fun

Wow, what a great Christmas gift. Have fun with her!
|
Thank you Mary - Hubby says this is Christmas, Anniversary, Birthday, Mothersday, etc. etc. for next 5 years, ha!

That is a very sweet machine! Have fun..

What a wonderful Christmas present. If that came to my house right now I would forget to wrap the presents, bake the cookies and probably cook the turkey :-) Have FUN!

Congratulations and Merry Christmas. You will love your new toy. I had an old (1990) Gammill that I bought used. Kept it for about four years, sold it and bought the A-1. I love, love, love the A-1. It was like going from a dump truck to a Cadillac. The ride on the A-1 is so smooth. Enjoy every minute of it.
We had to move the table in through the window, as well -- on the second floor............... |
You will enjoy this machine!! Merry Christmas!
|
I'm Jelous, I want one. Merry Christmas Hope you have much fun on her,

What a great gift, have fun creating.

What a nice Santa gift for you....my Santa gave me a Pfaff Grand Quilter with the Grace rails (5'-10'). I got it in September, but just now got it set up in my sewing room....haven't even had a chance to try it out..(tried it in the store and loved it). Now I need to learn how to use it. I have always used my HV-SE.
|
You must have been very good to get this from Santa early!! LOL
|
Yes, I heard many many good things about A1's. I cant imagine trying to get that thru the window on 2nd story. Did you hire a crane? Thank you so much. Any tips techniques you would want to share would be appreciated. I had a Babylock QCP on New Joy Frame for 4 yrs so I learned alot, now Im ready to spread my wings, hahaha. I love it so far.. I have a quilt almost quilted. Just doing an edge to edge freemotion, then I will do something in the borders. Having a blast tho.

Great gift:):) Looks like you're quilting right along. Have fun.
|
I am happy for you and the work on the frame is wonderful!
|
Your quilting (photo #2) takes my breath away...
|
Lucky you!!!! It was worth taking out a wall for that. My mom and I bought a longarm and I didn't have room for it at my house. It's at hers. Luckily, she is only a mile away and I can go there whenever I want to use it. I like freehand better than the computer set up. We had it for our last machine and never even set it up. I'm anxious to see what you quilt first. :) Congrats!!!

congrats. By the looks of your practice sandwich, this ain't your first rodeo. Where have you been LA previously? Or did you have a shortarm or midarm setup?
Oops should have read before posting. I see you posted you had a babylock for 4 years. |
