Sashed Half Hexi quilt top

1 Attachment(s)
I watched the YouTube video from Missouri Quilt Co tutorial called "The Sashed Half Hexi Quilt" and decided to give it a try. This is going to be a lap quilt. I used batiks and really liked the look. It is a very easy pattern to make. The blocks are trimmed to 12 1/2"

Nicely done. No border? Binding to be in the sashing fabric?

I watched the tutorial and saved it for a future project. Thank you for showing yours, it's very nice. Hope you show it again when you have it quilted.

Not finished yet will do borders was just so excited at how easy this was and how it looked like a stained glass window that I couldn't wait to share:)

The colors are great! I love the light blue sashing.

The sashing really changes the look of the half hex units. Thanks for sharing.

Claire123 03-08-2016 12:53 PM

Very nice.

ManiacQuilter2 03-08-2016 01:03 PM

Nice selection of batiks. Almost looks like stain glass!

So many pretty colors in your quilt.

arbed31 03-08-2016 05:48 PM

That is beautiful. How do the folks at MSQC come up with so many new ideas?

Evelynquilts 03-08-2016 06:14 PM

very pretty... I plan to make one also

JanieH 03-09-2016 03:27 AM

I had not seen that tutorial but wow! your quilt is really neat. Love the colors and the pattern.

quilterpurpledog 03-09-2016 03:34 AM

Nice pattern for using batiks and it does look like stained glass or mosaics. It could certainly be bordered or would be nice without a border. Be sure to show us when you finish your beautiful quilt.

twinkie 03-09-2016 03:54 AM

That is beautiful. Funny thing is that this morning on MSQC site they featured this quilt.

jmoore 03-09-2016 04:05 AM

wonderful quilt... love it in batiks. You did a nice job and it looks like a fun quilt to construct.

LGJARN52 03-09-2016 04:22 AM

I prefer yours to the one Missouri Star did with the black sashing. The black made it look like stained glass. Nothing wrong with stained glass, just isn't for me.

JoyjoyMarie 03-09-2016 04:43 AM

I love the pattern, and your fabric choices are so lovely. Thanks for sharing your work and the info about the pattern!

grammasharon 03-09-2016 05:01 AM

Beautiful quilt. Doesn't look easy. Your color choices add so much and it does look like a stained glass window. Making it so unique.

Jingle 03-09-2016 06:41 AM

Beautiful quilt top. Great choice of colors.

matraina 03-09-2016 07:40 AM

What a great idea!

Annz 03-09-2016 01:00 PM

The blue is really eye catching.

sewbizgirl 03-09-2016 02:24 PM

It's looking great! Hey, it looks like you could make it in continuous columns, too, if you wanted. No horizontal sashing.

Sondi 03-09-2016 02:56 PM

Your work is beautiful....lovely colors.....I am inspired to do one also!

redquilter 03-09-2016 03:49 PM

Really nice!

Cathy46 03-09-2016 06:41 PM

Very pretty quilt. I just finished the same quilt this week, only sashed in black. I too seen the tutorial on Missouri Star Quilt, and it went together quite fast. I don't know how to post a picture. I am wondering how to quilt it. Any suggestions are welcome.
