Great save! It's truly gorgeous now.
"Whacked, frog it, scalped, and reloaded". I don't know what any of this means, but from the looks of your quilt, you finally "whipped" it into shape!. haha It looks great! :D
You are doing very well. A friend who does lots of LA for pay tells me that she hardly ever uses black thread on balck fabric for that reason. She uses a deep grey, which gives just enough contrast.
Just lovely. Well done.
Wow, am so sorry you had to scalp....love that term and your description. But, WOW, did it ever turn out super!!! Great pattern and quilting.!!! Did you free motion or is it a panto? Thanks for sharing:)
Thanks all! I'm hoping to get the binding finished this week, I haven't kept a quilt for myself in like... forever! This one is staying with me. It's a panto for the quilting.

Love those colors! A gorgeous quilt!

Gorgeous quilt. Good on you for saving it. It was definitely worth it.
Love this quilt. You did a great job.

I really like your flower box quilt and the colors are beautiful against the black. Sometimes it is best to rework especially when its as beautiful as your quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone! Scalping is where you leave the quilt on the longarm, and lift the top and the batting away from the backing fabric to expose the stitches, then run a razor blade (I use my rotary cutter) lightly against the stitches. Unless you're incredible careful, it often destroys the batting and the backing, but the top is safe. It's a last ditch effort... but if you've ever tried to frog out black thread on black fabric...

Beautiful quilt and quilting - thanks for sharing!

Wow - that would have scared me too much to do. If I'd been in the room with you, I'd have been turning my head to avoid looking, lol.
