Scottie Dogs for a Boy

3 Attachment(s)
I recently made a charity quilt for a girl: https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...t-t296377.html

It was so much fun to make that I made another one in boy colors.

I was helped in choosing backing and binding fabrics on this thread: https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...g-t296505.html

Thank you... I never would have thought to make it this way without your suggestions.

This is a very cute one! Those pups are the best! I love it.

Rose_P 04-30-2018 07:52 PM

I love, love, love this! The bias stripes are a great choice, and I think I'm seeing puppies in those clouds. The well placed flowers and such for "eyes" on your Scotties just add something even more special, and the quilting is perfect.

Great quilt for a little guy. I like everything about it-especially that bias stripe binding. It just sets the quilt off beautifully.

Very cute quilt. Especially like your quilting and binding. Lots of work but well worth the effort!

ka9sdn 05-02-2018 03:48 AM

What size are the blocks? Look like 2.5. Would be simple enough to make.

Yes, I used 2.5" squares to make a 10" finished Scottie dog block... but you could use any size you want.

DJ 05-02-2018 05:43 AM

Nice work. Scotties are so cute.

fred singer 05-02-2018 10:11 AM

lovely quilt

tuckyquilter 05-02-2018 05:26 PM

Well Done.. I love the quilt and the quilting is perfect as to not draw away from the actual blocks.

ArtsyOne 05-03-2018 09:10 AM

That turned out great!

coopah 05-03-2018 01:09 PM

Darling! The clouds and stripes finish it nicely. How did you get the quilting lines to be so perfectly aligned? The stitches look further apart than a double needle would allow. Hm.....

PamelaOry 05-03-2018 01:15 PM

I love this! Makes me wish I were a little boy...

It was free motion with a ruler. I marked the middle line and sewed 1/4" on either side of the center. It worked great! :)
