QuiltnNan 02-15-2019 11:15 AM

looks good

Jordan 02-15-2019 12:51 PM

Nice blocks. That is going to be a very pretty scrappy.

Judith1005 02-15-2019 03:40 PM

Woah, I wouldn't stop either. Those are sure some pretty colors your working with.

Boston1954 02-15-2019 03:44 PM

It always feels good to use those little pieces. Good job.

zozee 02-15-2019 04:01 PM

I like those color families done that way. Keep posting as you go!

Jingle 02-15-2019 04:56 PM

Off to a pretty start.

BSKTLOFR-QUILTER 02-15-2019 05:44 PM

You're on a roll. Thanks for posting. Like magic it will turn into a gorgeous quilt.

SusieQOH 02-15-2019 05:46 PM

Wow, that looks beautiful!
And you're right about fabric costs!

oksewglad 02-15-2019 08:27 PM

A fun start...keep us posted.

When fabric is $9 a yard, an inch of fabric (wof) is worth a 25 cents. I have a hard time throwing quarters in the garbage!

quiltingshorttimer 02-15-2019 09:27 PM

i like that! please keep going.

greaterexp 02-15-2019 09:51 PM

Wow! I hope you post the finished project. It will be beautiful!

in Canada we pay $16.00 to $20.00 a meter. At 9.00 a yard I would buy the LQS.

audsgirl 02-15-2019 10:57 PM

These are gorgeous, Barb! I hear you about all the money tied up in fabric. You've found a great way to use every part.

Very nice use of scraps. You are right, there is lots of money tied up in scraps and they make such wonderful quilts. I admire your diligence is using them so beautifully. Yes, keep going and don't forget to keep us posted.

sewnclog 02-16-2019 06:44 AM

Oh, I like that too. Will have to try that.

Mary Christine 02-16-2019 06:45 AM

sue.ross.8782 02-16-2019 09:49 AM

retiredteacher09 02-16-2019 01:24 PM

Very pretty! Are you using a specialty ruler for making half square rectangles?

oksewglad 02-16-2019 01:34 PM

PWBarb..Most fabric is now $10 to $12 and doubt it will ever get back to $9 except on sale.

francie yuhas 02-16-2019 01:48 PM

Fabric costs the same per yard...whether it comes in big or small pieces.

I am paper piecing strings. Made a rectangle sew the strips on a diagonal then cut corner to corner.

Grandma Peg 02-16-2019 09:22 PM

Progress report for Sunday

coopah 02-17-2019 03:02 PM

You're right about the money in scraps, but you're getting the most you can out of them. They look good together. Hope you'll show us when you've got them completed.

retiredteacher09 02-17-2019 04:46 PM

PatchworkBarb: Thank you for answering my question about the split rectangles (I used the wrong term before-oops). I look forward to your progress.

Quiltah Mama 02-17-2019 05:45 PM

Love the design, the criss cross look to it. What an alternative look to a string quilt and love how you organize it by color. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing the finished project.

BrendaK 02-18-2019 01:18 AM

Looking good. Will make a beautiful quilt. BrendaK

Darcyshannon 02-18-2019 04:21 AM

Good idea. Like the use of strips.

thimblebug6000 02-18-2019 08:03 AM

Cool design! Had to grin about your comment of buying the whole quilt store at $9/yard..... yes the latest fabric I bought was over $20 Cdn/metre ...... I am starting to only buy a tad more than the actual pattern requirement now, rather than rounding up to the next metre.....
