Thought that I would keep going with my scrap busting, there is a lot of $$$ tied up in unused fabric

Oh, nice! I really like the modern feel of these blocks
That's going to be a great quilt.
That's a great start!
Woah, I wouldn't stop either. Those are sure some pretty colors your working with.
It always feels good to use those little pieces. Good job.
I like those color families done that way. Keep posting as you go!
Off to a pretty start.
You're on a roll. Thanks for posting. Like magic it will turn into a gorgeous quilt.
Wow, that looks beautiful!
And you're right about fabric costs! |
A fun start...keep us posted.
When fabric is $9 a yard, an inch of fabric (wof) is worth a 25 cents. I have a hard time throwing quarters in the garbage! |
i like that! please keep going.
Wow! I hope you post the finished project. It will be beautiful!

These are gorgeous, Barb! I hear you about all the money tied up in fabric. You've found a great way to use every part.

Very nice use of scraps. You are right, there is lots of money tied up in scraps and they make such wonderful quilts. I admire your diligence is using them so beautifully. Yes, keep going and don't forget to keep us posted.
Oh, I like that too. Will have to try that.
Wonderful colors! Looks great!
Good for you. I like your innovative start on the quilt.

Today’s progress

Very pretty! Are you using a specialty ruler for making half square rectangles?
PWBarb..Most fabric is now $10 to $12 and doubt it will ever get back to $9 except on sale.
Fabric costs the same per yard...whether it comes in big or small pieces.

Progress report for Sunday
You're right about the money in scraps, but you're getting the most you can out of them. They look good together. Hope you'll show us when you've got them completed.
PatchworkBarb: Thank you for answering my question about the split rectangles (I used the wrong term before-oops). I look forward to your progress.
Love the design, the criss cross look to it. What an alternative look to a string quilt and love how you organize it by color. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing the finished project.
Looking good. Will make a beautiful quilt. BrendaK
Good idea. Like the use of strips.
Cool design! Had to grin about your comment of buying the whole quilt store at $9/yard..... yes the latest fabric I bought was over $20 Cdn/metre ...... I am starting to only buy a tad more than the actual pattern requirement now, rather than rounding up to the next metre.....
