Here's my latest baby quilt. I sewed from 10:00 last night until 3:00 this morning to get the top done (baby is due October 31 and is a girl). I only had to do the frog stitch 3 times (luckily I caught the misplaced square early on and only had to undo 4" each time). Now the question is: to border or not to border. I'd appreciate your input. Thanx.

Very nice. I might put a border on it depending on how big it is. Either way great job!

janRN 09-29-2010 08:51 AM

Very pretty. And you kept it all together even working all night (that's usually when I screw up LOL). I would put a narrow border of the pinwheel fabric and then a larger border (same size as blocks) of one of the block colors. all your colors are lovely. Great job!

That is what I would do. It's such a pretty quilt and I think borders would finish it off nicely.

Very pretty!

Beautiful quilt. I would make border from pin wheel fabric.

sunrise450 09-29-2010 08:59 AM

That's very pretty, is that you own pattern?

sawsan 09-29-2010 09:05 AM

Pretty as it is in the pic unless u want to make it bigger so the baby can use more years

I found the 3-D pinwheel on the tutorials on this site and the rest I just threw together and then rearranged the blocks until I found just the right mix. It was fun to put together and I'd do another one in a heart beat.

Gramyx7 09-29-2010 09:14 AM

Very pretty.. If you have enough put a small border of the pin wheel fabric.. but it looks good with out one.. good job.

wolfkitty 09-29-2010 09:17 AM

My decision would be based on the size needed. I think it would look nice with a border, if it wouldn't make it too big. If so, It looks lovely without a border.

MamaBear61 09-29-2010 09:18 AM

Very cute.

You did a great job!!

I believe borders give the finishing touch. But, it's whatever suits your fancy.

Sadiemae 09-29-2010 09:23 AM

Very cute!

KellyK 09-29-2010 09:30 AM

Uber cute! I say no border, I like it just the way it is.

wolph33 09-29-2010 10:27 AM

love the happy colors

belmer 09-29-2010 10:34 AM

This is so colorful, I love those pinwheels. Nice job!

Bluebonnet Sue 09-29-2010 10:56 AM

I agree with janRN. It would finish off nicely & the child could enjoy for a longer time.

SueDor 09-29-2010 11:29 AM

How big is it already? I like borders even if its a narrow one. Very cute!

GrammaNancy 09-29-2010 11:31 AM

Really cute, I need to try those pinwheels.

kacy 49 09-29-2010 11:32 AM

Cute baby quilt. I agree with the others a small border same as base for pinwheel and then another of one of the block colors.

Beffy_Boo 09-29-2010 12:01 PM

   Love the pinwheels, colors, layout...just perfect! I agree with the other member that said a thin boarder of of the pinwheel fabric and then a wider one of one of your block colors. This is a fabulous quilt.

miss_ticky2 09-29-2010 12:10 PM

Very nice

tygrelily 09-29-2010 12:27 PM

Pretty as it is in the pic unless u want to make it bigger so the baby can use more years

************************************************** **********I agree, the child will want to use it after infancy. Adding borders would make it usable for many more years.

Ditter43 09-29-2010 12:34 PM

I would use the pinwheel fabric for a border....Great quilt!! :D

It's about 34 1/4" square. I'm thinking a border would make it bigger and it could be used for a longer time. Thanx for your nice comment.

mom-6 09-29-2010 07:34 PM

Do you have enough of the green that is the background on the pinwheel block? If not for a border, at least for binding?

Blue Bell 09-29-2010 07:48 PM

Love those pinwheels. Such a happy quilt.

I think this is a great idea. What a wonderful quilt! I really like how you have arranged the blocks.

I think the pinwheel fabric as a border and as mom-6 mentioned, do a green binding.

Whatever you decide will be great....lovely happy quilt and those pinwheels are gorgeous.

tooMuchFabric 09-29-2010 11:07 PM

Quite nice indeed, good job.

Margandi 09-30-2010 03:00 AM

mimee4 09-30-2010 05:46 AM

So nice for that little girl who is coming. She will love it...bordered or not.

lillybeck 09-30-2010 07:19 AM

I like this. I have one to do now for January and just learned I have another GB due in June so I may just borrow this pattern. It is adorable.

barbb baumgardner 09-30-2010 12:29 PM

definitely a border. I have a couple of odd 3d pinwheel left overs and your quilt gave me the idea for a charity uilt. Thanks.

marla 09-30-2010 02:34 PM

Love your pinwheels and fabric choice. That multicolor would be cute for the borders. Good job.

Latrinka 09-30-2010 04:36 PM

Beautiful, I think border it with same fab that pinwheels are done with.
