Hello, I just thought I would post a picture of my most recent and largest (110"x112") quilt. I got the blocks pre-cut online then managed to work out how to set it 'on point' so the hearts would be upright. I should admit that the figuring was done by a nine year old neighbor boy, since I could not remember how to do the math. Getting old isn't for the faint of heart. Enjoy.

Minnesewta-sam 07-13-2010 02:21 AM

I like this one. It reminds me of the woven paper heart baskets me DD used to make for Valentine's day.

I save all my difficult tasks, anything that requires math or electronics, for when my grandkids get home from school. I only do it to make them feel good. teehee. Very pretty quilt. Love those scrappy hearts.

Beautiful quilt!! I always loved math while in school, but never thought that I would be using it later on in life to make quilts! Go figure!!

Beautiful! I love the scrappy hearts look, you just can't go wrong with hearts. Perfect set on point, great idea, and don't feel bad that a nine year old helped, these kids are now born with preprogrammed computer chips, they just amaze me with their quick knowledge, so just enjoy the help we are all there with you!!!

belmer 07-13-2010 09:43 AM

Yes, that's it exactly! I love it also for that reason. What is the name of this pattern? It's wonderful and what precious memories you both will have.

Lyncat 07-13-2010 03:12 PM

It's beautiful. I don't have a 9 year old boy next door, but I do have a sister in another state who is a whiz at figuring out these things and I call her for help!

jljack 07-13-2010 03:13 PM

Love that pattern!! So simple, but so striking!

mimee4 07-14-2010 04:23 AM

Very pretty and cheerful. I, too, have trouble with the math, especially setting on point. Good for your neighbor kid.

I love the quilt, it's beautiful work! And isn't it sad when we have to get the children to help us with our math? LOL You are not alone...I promise!
