I love scrappy quilts and have been making them for at least 3 years - still trying to use up my stash!

Here are a few pictures.

Not a quick one but was all done from stash.

A challenge one to use shared recycled fabrics of all sorts. Some ghastly non quilting fabrics here.

Grammy, you have made some of the most beautiful scrappy quilts I have ever seen.

Well, I just spent all my "Board"Time in this one thread: OMGosh just beautiful quilts - I love the scrappy and I want to make another one - my bins are overflowing and I must organize and get to sewing: Thank you so much for all the wonderful ideas and I love each and everyone.

Beautiful quilts all of you. Running to my scrap basket, oops baskets.

This was actually the first quilt I ever made. For months, I bought quarter yards of small print fabrics, any time I was near a fabric shop. (I honestly did not have a stash at the time!!). The top sat for 6 years, unquilted because I discovered a glaring flaw almost in the middle and did not know what to do to fix it. Finally, I openned some seams, moved a few things around and now, am very happy with My First Quilt!

The second one started as a few blocks because I wanted to try a Log Cabin (plus I needed something to do with the 'stash' I had acquired to make my FIRST quilt!!). I decided to make a lap quilt...which quickly changed into a twin bed quilt...which grew to fit a queen. And when it got to that point, I decided that I liked it so much that I would love to make it a king size to fit our bed, but could not find any more of the two fabrics that outline each block. (Sigh). And so it remains--Just a Queen!

The Log Cabin that just 'growed and growed'!

Wow are you brave to piece bias cuts for your first quilt! I just finished my 1st (DP9), purposely no bias, it is so intimidating to me. They are beautiful, great, cozy work! Mine is queen size and I wanted more drop on the sides than allowed given the size. My bed sits up high so I throw my quilt across my bed the "wrong" way - head and foot as the sides. It looks great and plenty at the head of the bed to snuggle with. Still anticipating my next quilt but limit myself severely shying from bias cuts.

I especially like stack the deck!

I like your first quilt best, especially the effect of the matching fabrics that give a lightning bolt effect (5th row). Thanks for sharing. Scrappy's are great especially when you want to "veggie brain" sew. Hearing the hum of my machine whirring away is so relaxing.

Somehow I lost track of this thread (guess I'll have to re-subscribe) and am now just catching up. Wow! You all have made some beautiful scrappies. I really don't have a lot of scraps, but I do have a stash, so if I make one from my stash will it count? ;) Thanks for all the eye candy and inspiration!
