Scrappy Spiderweb Completed!

2 Attachment(s)
I love the Bonnie Hunter scrappy quilts, and found this free pattern on her site - I had to try it to get some of my scraps used up - but as most of us know, it really doesn't make a dent!
I used an old telephone book to make the templates to sew the scraps to, really made it easy to tear away the paper when done.
When I was ready to add the binding I thought I'd try something different (for me anyway) I wrapped my binding around a large old spool I had sitting on a shelf, and put it between my knees as I sewed. It unwound really easily so I know I'll be doing that in the future with all my bindings. Thanks for looking!

Great quilt!!! love it. I've been known to put my binding in a small plastic bag and slip the handle of the bag beneath the front corner of my sewing machine. worked well.

mucky 03-26-2014 04:30 PM

What is the name of the quilt? I tried to find the pattern on her website but didn't have any luck.

I also wanted to start one, sorted my scraps, starched and ironed them, then decided I didn't have enough, so it is on hold. Yours is so much more beautiful, anyway. Very inspiring.

Very pretty quilt. Thanks for sharing the idea about the spool for the binding.
