darlene, here is the link to the braid method at QUILTER'S CACHE. if you are new to quilting you must bookmark this site. i can literally spend hours just looking at the different blocks and their examples of how to use them. all the patterns are free and they post new ones all the time.
the braid is not exactly a block but a way of sewing strips together. it is really just a variation of a log cabin. only one sided. once you get started just keep adding strips until it is as long as you want it. you can either chop the ends or add triangles to finish. personally i usually chop.
this is a very very simple way to sew strips together. have fun.

barn, coming from someone of your quilting prowess i take that as high praise indeed. thank you.

hi lockeb, if you werent able to find the post about turkey tracks, this should get you there. it is much more clear than i could ever explain.
this stitch is really an embroidery stitch. don't know the real name, maybe someone reading this could say. i don't do much embroidery.
anyway, i hope this helps.
good luck.

Such a beautiful quilt to begin with but the turkey tracks just make it even more so. The tracks are so even, how far apart do you put them? Must do that on an embroidered rooster that I'm working on :D

thank you blue bird. if you saw the quilt up close the tracks are not exactly the same space apart. i just eyeball as i go along. somewhere around 5/8 to 3/4 inch is what i shoot for. give or take. lol. whatever looks good to you.
