I got a package, I got a package! But I need to take a picture! (singing and skipping here)

I got LOTS of lovelies! I am in LUV with my SQA. I'm going to keep what I got a secret until I post a pic later. But.... there's chocolate involved and reading and sewing and.....

i have the same problem with my angelee, i mailed her a package almost two weeks ago - priority mail - 12 days to be exact and i haven't heard a thing and haven't even seen her post on here at all. so i did ask kwhite to check on her, haven't heard back from her yet - but yes i also try to post immediately with pic.

Hi I am so excited I got a parcel from my secret angel. It came at the right time. I had just been to the accountant and was not feeling too great.

I have 2 FQ in PINK.... I do not possess any pink fabric. and believe it or not I have two grandaughters and NO pink. I should be ashamed of myself!!!! Your FQ are so pretty I really love them. I also got a lovely two year diary and a gorgeous card explaining why my parcel was sooo late. Please do not worry, it was worth the wait.

Dear SA I am sending you my condolonces and please do not worry when you have to post. It is not a race and I really and truly appreciate anything I receive. Even a card will do for me. Thank you so much for thinking about me during your tough times. Will post photo when I know how. Sorry.... thanks once again. ciao

janedennis 02-12-2010 09:12 AM

Since there is so much hype on posting when received, i want to let my secret angel know that the package arrived, and it says do not open until Valentines day, so didnt. Cant post about what i can see!!Looking forward to it. Have been moving into different place since our accident and it has been hectic to say the least but am happy with my new place and will have more room to sew and create. As for my package to my secret angel its on its way. Happy Valentine's Day Everyone.

Sorry! I can't share these gifts, because they are all meant for my enjoyment. I can share my enjoyment though, which is why I post pictures so you all can enjoy seeing them too. Or is it so everyone can imagine how it would feel if they had the best Angel on the Board. Sorry, I'm not sharing her either. Don't be jealous!!!

I don't blame you, I wouldn't share either.

I just received a really great package from my SQA -- it is a pattern for a 32 x 44 inch appliqued tree frog head! Yep, a tree frog, very similar to those cute little green ones with the sticky feet that climb all over the windows when the weather is warm. With their fat little bellies squished up against the glass . . . uh, I guess you have to see them to really appreciate them. They are definitely not seen up north. Anyway, the pattern looks pretty much foolproof, which means I will actually attempt it, never having done this type of thing before. I have a big spot on the orange wall of my office, right next to the bird-of-paradise print where this baby is going to be hung. Thank you so much, SQA; as you can tell I'm really excited. I've never seen anything like this -- and my sister will be so jealous when she sees it. Will post pix when I get a chance. It's an awesome gift -- thanks so much for thinking of me. When I look at it I will always smile because those frogs are so darn cute and you thought of me enough to send it.

I just received a wonderful package of things from my
secret angel. Some tiger fabric, teddy bear fabric and
psychedelic looking flower fabric (love it), green tea,
victorian looking heart box full of hersheys chocolates
(yum yum love hersheys), a box of chinese coconut candy
(staying with the chinese new year theme), some almond
cookies (which got broken in shipment but thats good cause
it lets all the calories leak out), a beautiful cat/fish
card, and she even sent treats for my kitties. You are
such a great angel. I love everything you've sent me.
To my secret angel: Happy Chinese New Year to you and
am sending a great big quilters hug right back to you too.
Thanks again. Wish I could post pictures, maybe someday!!
Kitties send purrs your way too!!

Yaaay! I got a package from my SQA today! There's a soapstone oil burner that you put scented oil things in--makes the whole room smell great. I can't wait to try it out! I got a couple of really cute valentine dish towels and some Air Head candy (is she trying to tell me something???) There's a really cute card, and best of all, some bulbs! I have no idea what they are--guess I'll find out after I plant them and they bloom! READER ALERT: I'm not much of a gardener, but I'll try this and see if I can actually get anything to bloom! Thank you SQA--you've challenged me to try something I've never done before!

Here are some pictures of my "loot" and a couple of my quilting inspectors checking it out and giving their approval!

Janstar 02-12-2010 04:52 PM

Nice gifts Harmony. Can't wait to hear what kind of flowers you get.

Elisabrat 02-12-2010 05:07 PM

There are some very creative angels out there. We are all fortunate. I am guessing the huge bottle of fancy wine I sent never made it to my angel. Or the mercedes. Shoot. Wait, let me check.. oops, empty bottle and the grandkid had the matchbox cars out and must have swiped your new vehicle. Maybe next month Angel. I wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day and some kind words from someone they love. I have already found several items posted here I am going to raid just as soon as its politically correct.. um.. that sure was pretty.. your not going to use THAT ARE YOU?? Dont want it to grow mold so let me.. just wait. I am getting ready to pounce!

KGoodhand 02-12-2010 05:16 PM

Everyone is getting such nice treats from their angels!

I got a lovely package from my angel..... one fat quarter in purple and blue and 2 more contrast. Also, a note book covered in fabric. It will go with me to a class I am taking on Tues. Gave dh back the black one he loaned me.
Thanks so much, I hope my angel is as excited with my gifts as I am when I get mine.
Blessing to you, Angel

You got some great gifts. How lucky to get flower bulbs. What a unique idea. Such creative minds our angels have.
Not to be a know it all, but being a master gardener, I know where to look for planting advice. So if you don't mind me butting my gardener nose in just a little, I would like to share some planting instructions. You can plant your new bulbs in the early spring, in well tilled soil in a sunny location, pointy side up toward the sun, flat/root side down toward the soil. Plant them about 3 times the length of the bulb, deep. 2" bulb about 6" deep. Please let us know what you end up with. My guess is daffodils, but they are so many different varieties. What a long lasting surprise these are going to be. Please post pictures of them when they bloom, and they should bloom every year. You can also plant them in a pot indoors and force them to bloom early, but then the bulb's life may be shortened and they may not come back again. Enjoy!!
Linda

Good info Linda, thanks. I agree that it's a good idea!

Harmony 02-12-2010 07:56 PM

Linda, thanks for the info on planting bulbs! At least now I have a place to start! I think I can put them in a pot--that would look nice on my patio. Now, how will I be able to wait until spring????

I am not a gardener however I once planted over 50 bulbs in my garden so that I would never have to plant flowers again. The next day there were 50 holes.  It just so happens squirrels love to eat flower bulbs. I was told after the fact to either put the bulbs in wire and then plant them or dig the hole put coffee in the hole with the bulb and coffee all on top of the soil where it was planted. I never planted another bulb again after that. but I dooooooooo plant tomatoes most years.

trupeach 02-13-2010 11:12 AM

Thank you, thank you, thank you, my dear sweet angel. I received a cute Valentine card along with Best Press. In the same box was a gift of a life time somthing I have loved for a very long time but do not own............... A Jim Shore statue, I love his works. Mine is a quilting angel titled "stitch and sew till you're aglow." She is the prettiest little angel with a quilt in one hand and a needle in the other quilting the quilt. Oh!!!!!!! I wish I knew how to post pictures for everyone to see her. How did my SQA know I love angels with a PASSION???????? I DEFINATLY know I have never post I love angels and I know for a fact I have never told anyone on the board. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO this was divine intervention.

In another package I received magazines thank you whoever sent me those. There was no note or card but they were not from the same person as there was more then enough room in the package with the angel to fit the magazines. I have not been feeling well the last few days, actually bedridden ( I love laptops it comes in bed with me) and this afternoon I will read my maggies, thank you again.

Well actually, I am more of an advisor and a pointer. My my knowledge could be worth gold.

laparshall 02-13-2010 01:06 PM

Tru: Those dirty squirrels. After all that hard work. If you have critters, you do have to outsmart them. And there are many ways to do that, but like you found out you don't realize there is a problem until you've done all the work only to discovery the empty holes.

laparshall 02-13-2010 01:10 PM

Well I got another envelope in my mail box from my SQA. She has a propensity for torture I am discovering. This is a small card sized envelope that once again says "Do Not Open Until V-Day!"

I don't mean to rush it, but I sure hope tomorrow hurrys and gets here. They are both sitting on the dining room table waiting. If I am still up at midnight, I'm opening them both.

PS I don't mean to complain. . .I love surprises!
