What a GREAT EASTER PRESENT!!! ;) You received a huge amount of "loot"! I love all of those patterns! I need to make something for my Angel, maybe a tote bag. I always worry that she might not like it. . . . . .then what? Re- gift?? :cry: I need to find something cute, like those bloomers!! I remember seeing those many, many years ago. The turtle rag quilt pattern- I wanted that soo bad lol and now I have it. I still need to finish sewing what I am making for my little girl out of all the fabric she sent last time. I will post a pic when I am done with that. The kids ate all the candy already lol and NO they are MY BUNNYS lol get your own- Actually the little ones claimed them already :-)

I went thru the same thing with Secret Santa.
It's a shame that people sign up for things, then decide that for what ever reason, they either don't want to send anything or maybe they forgot they signed up.
In either case....IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!! You are just the facilitator that was nice enough to suggest this and took names to coordinate. What I would suggest is....if you keep getting complaints about people NOT receiving ANYTHING, then "oust" that person to the person that is supposed to be receiving and let the 2 of them hash it out.
Other than that, there's nothing you can do.
I know you have others that step in and help out, which shouldn't be the case, but well..........it just sucks when that happens.

For those of you who are sending to your SQAs, I commend you.
For those of you who are not...SHAME ON YOU! You know who you are and you shouldn't sign up for ANY swaps in the future since you are reneging on this one. If you aren't sending because you are having some sort of a problem, then you should be contacting Kwhite and letting her know so someone can step in for you.
Hurt feelings happen, but when something like this happens, it's more than feelings that get hurt.

Well said, Terri. It seems to be true that no good deed goes unpunished -- at least in KWhite's case. This swap has meant too much to too many and has brought our little world so close together. I see so much support and generosity and honest concern among the board participants. Life does get in our way sometimes, as do good intentions. This is a lesson in compassion -- and maybe human nature.

KWhite, I do appreciate all the effort you have gone through on behalf of this swap -- in spite of your own life demanding attention. Thank you. Maybe Terri's right -- just "out" the non-performers to their angelees and let them face off -- there may be legitimate excuses or maybe not. In any case, someone should learn a lesson in the confrontation.

And where is YOUR SQA, KWhite, as you endure all the "grief" being thrown your way?

kwhite, I appreciate all the time and effort that goes into hosting a swap. And the SQA swap is a big, ongoing one! If I can do anything to help (send PMs, e-mails, reminders, etc.), just let me know. I work cheap! I'm sure others would be willing to lend a hand too. Or be angels for the angels! Thanks for all you do.

And another thought ,Maybe Karen gets an email from someone who is NOT mailing, saying life is in the way but I want to continue as soon as possible, what is she to do ? Not saying that not sending is right, but if you can't do it , be fair about it and just bow out without any hard feelings.

It has been a long time but today I got a package from my SQA. I really thought she was dropping out. It was nice to hear from her. She sent me 4 one yard pieces of the softest fabric from seaside quilting supplies. OK, I did not join this swap, because I knew this was going to happen, even though I was happy to help Karen get it all set up. I am APPALLED at how some of you "Ladies" (and I use the term loosely) are acting over this!!! Shame on you!! And I am going to tell more than I should, but Know Sew, your angel doesn't even live on this continent, so it is a big, fat, hairy deal for her to send you anything!!!!!! Don't expect something even every month.

Maybe you're the one that needs to get over it, gaigai......after all Knot Sew acknowledged and thanked her Angel for the lovely fabric and gift she received. What you said was just as uncalled for. You're not the one being totally forgotten. It is very easy for anyone to push a button and send an email if there is something wrong and they can't continue with this type of swap. It's also common courtesy. Everyone would understand and go on with it. I know that Kwhite never dreamed it would turn out like this......I sure did't and it is not her fault. Lesson learned.....but I'm glad I got involved because I met a very sweet friend and I value that connection very much.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax.

Can we all act like adults now and not squabling siblings and get on with life. Every one take a deep breath and remember "Angels" are one of God's most prescious carriers of good news and love.

Thank you all for your kind words of support. Never fear, None of this has me upset or discouraged or anything like that. I have worked in a prison for 8 years. Nothing that happens here is going to get through this tough skin. I like very much to be nice but I can go from nice to "B" in .3 nano seconds if need be. All of my pants (unfortunately) are big girls pants. I am working on that but that is another thread altogether. Anyway I knew there would be issues and I try to deal with them. I viewed this as sort of a lottery scratch-off. Sometimes you are going to hit it big and get the top prize but some times people will get the "free ticket". Before I judge a non sender as "inconsiderate" or any other label I will always give that person an opportunity to explain. If they choose not to reply within the allotted time I will remove them. It has happened. Anyway, Thank you again for your support. Your kindnesses are what keep me going.

And someone asked about "where is my angel", Trust me she is awesome. Very generous and thoughtful. Now lets get back to the fun and put all this ugliness behind us. If you want ugliness go look up the ugly fabric threads. There is plenty there and you will pee your pants reading them.
