I love this quilt - it is eye candy in any color I've seen it done. Great Job!
|
That's a beautiful quilt! Lovely work!

Thanks for all the compliments. It is a very simple quilt, I have made many, like 10-12 probably now.
This is one I have had laser cut by Kate Flynn, John Flynn's daughter. She cut out 4 for me last time. So nice to just sit down and sew. 16 lights and 16 dark fat quarters, 1.5 yards of the black and you have this top. We have that in our stashes. Easily made into a King with more fats. I made it so it comes out to be 89X89 inches square. Nice for a queen. All over quilting and it is a great gift for someone. I am a quilter at heart! I love to piece quilts....I am here at this site because I truely Enjoy this art and want to keep growing in it. Thanks for helping me grow. |
Sue,
Very nice. Have you ever done this in batiks? I have a lot of batik FQs and am looking for a pattern to use them in. |
I have not.
I have seen it done. You need to make sure the lights are reading light. I wondered how it would be if you used all the same for the lights... that would be my next to do. |
Very pretty quilt! Wonderful work, too. Really like the colors too.
|
Nice quilt!
|
lovely!
|
Love your colors, love the pattern!
Thanks for posting. I will be bookmarking this. You make it sound easy. |
I'll go thru my batik stash this morning and see what I have. I've seen some fab light batiks at a shop recently so that too may be the way to go. When you quilted this, did you just use an edge to edge design? or is it custom. I can't tell in the pic.

D I think on this one I did a feather pattern. |
My Avatar is this quilt with my 15 yr old son. Our caboose, 12 yrs between the two youngest.
He's single! (Thats our joke, everyone asks if our older ones are married, so I go down the line yes, yes, almost and he is single) Max holds quilts for me "All The Time" having a LAQ business in your home you have many quilts coming and going. He can hold quilts for pics, like he was doing in the Avartar, his arms were getting sore. Fun thing is, his wing span is getting larger! Love my son! |
beautiful.........

Beautiful pattern and the fabrics you chose are lovely!

The girl in the photo at the link looks exactly like my sister did at that age. I did a double take on her face.
|
