Seminole type quilt
1 Attachment(s)
Here's one of my most recent finishes, made for my daughter at her new apartment. It's twin sized and pieced entirely on vintage machines, mostly my White Fair Lady, straight stitch machine. I did, however, quilt it on my new Bernina. It's a very intricate BOM, strip quilt from my guild and my White came through with flying colors. She demanded zebra fabric on the back.

It is very stricking. And I think zebra fabric is a great choice. While it's not my type quilt I am very drawn to it. Thanks for sharing.

Wow...very very pretty - it always amazes me - because i agonize over colors when making a quilt - just how beautiful they can be with just 2 or 3 colors. Yours just pops !!

There's no pattern. The strips I believe, were based on several Seminole patchwork books. I was left with many different sizes of strips that I had to piece together. Accuracy of piecing was a must as some of the pieces were an inch. |
Great seminole patchwork! I did something using this many years ago and hadn't thought about it in a long time. Thanks for sharing, now to find my old book
|
<3 <3 this - I'm drawn to many of the quilts that look like many of the native American loom work. Excellent job :)
|
