Decided it would be more fun to quilt with others. So I invited my cousin who has returned to this side of the USA after 10 years away. My bff since I was 15 joined us as did my 4 sisters and niece. My daughter and daughter in law were here too.
For those who had a project, it was a chance for me to help them and for those who needed one, I cut out table runners. My sister Sue wanted to do a charity quilt, since it was make a blanket day. I brought out some orphan blocks I had stitched together and she made borders and quilted it. I bound it today. As we talked, we realized that our brother's girlfriend's DIL is undergoing chemo for colon cancer at age 22 so it is going to Stacey this week. My sister Rose came back today (I think I have a convert) and she finished a quilt top for her grandson. She took home fabric for the backing to prepare for next week. Pics are the quilt top and charity quilt. And some of the group. It was productive. The food was good- I made some things we hadn't had since we were kids- homemade mac & cheese with stewed tomatoes and "monkey meat"- some people call it ham salad. charity quilt- now has a home Rose's quilt top Sister Ellen, daughter Hope and Cousin Barb my sister Sue my sister Betsy |

What a wonderful day it must have been. I truly envy you for having all those female relatives. I only have my eldest daughter and she is not craft minded at all.
I love the quilt that you are going to give Stacey. That blue border just ties it all together beautifully. |
You guys look like you are having so much fun. The quilts pictured are really nice.
