As a third generation sailor I think it looks very nautical. Pat yourself on the back, forget nit-picking yourself, something I do daily, remember it is the love that went into making the quilt that is most important. I hope my DH doesn't ask for a Harley quilt. :)

I think it's great. You make even like it more after it's quilted!

Have you ever used Quilt Smart fusible designs? The Lone Star and Mariners Compase are easy to do that way.

Don't be so critical--I do this ebough for everyone, and I knwo better. This is a beautiful quilt! Do not hide it!!
