I found this at goodwill. Could you tell me if this is a sewing cabinet. The top lifts up.

It really looks like books staked on top of each other...maybe it was for a formal library in a home????
It is a beautiful piece of furniture!

I'm not sure it is; but I bet you it will be, At least at my house it would be. It is lovely.

The two bottom drawers pull out.

Ahh.. maybe it is a floss caddy?

wow, it sure is pretty. I have tons of threads and flosses. yummy! :-D
It can be anything you want it to be. I would definitely put it either in my sewing room or my bedroom for something special. slurp! :D

It's a Library Side Table..Susan is right! :)

It's really pretty...it would have followed me home too!

Thanks, I've never seen one like this. I thought the side tables all had longer legs and was pushed tight against the wall.

Don't know what it was originally but sure is great  You can use it any way you want  LOL

are those hinges on the back? do the other front drawers open? it might have been a secretary or a ladies' chest. what are the measurements?

whatever it was, it wasn't made to go against a wall. the back is prettier than the front. imo.
