Karla what a great place you have yourself now and more storage for more fabrics!!!

I have one suggestion for you. Although I keep all my material in plastic bins on shelves, I took cheap flannel tablecloths and attached them to the top of the shelves, flannel side out. It protects my fabric from fading and gives me a "design wall."
What a great idea!! I told Mark the new shelving took my design wall, but you just gave it back!! Thank you!! :D

So glad I could share something that helps someone else out. The most important thing is it will keep your fabric from fading.

Wow, what a great job you did... Makes me think of my mess... UGH! Why oh why do we need to upkeep.

Your before pics are cleaner than my current room! I have burst from the seams literally and can't seem to get on top of it all. I just need to get in there and make a ton of quilts and get rid of some of my stash. I already sold a ton of it and now I am still feeling too cluttered in. Right now I can't walk in there but I need to today. I MUST bind a wall quilt so I can mail it out tomorrow!!

Congrats on your "new" sewing room! The taller book cases are nice!

Organization is like a breath of fresh air! Really gets those creative juices flowing as well! Great room!
Blessings,

I told my husband I obviously wasn't sewing fast enough if I had all this fabric to deal with...he was just slightly amused.. LoL!

I like that answer! I am planning on sewing once this week and then I have my monthly Sewing Saturday which will be nice. It's been awhile since everyone has been able to make it. I'm hoping to get lots done :) I should just start on some stack and whack quilts to push out some of that stash....

That is great! I am so cramped in my little upstairs corner. I have talked my mother, who moved onto our property across the road, and I am going to make us a basement quilting room in her unfinished basement. I think that with a lot of work it will make a great quilting area for both of us.

Twenty-five years ago DH built me all these lovely bookshelves because I was an avid reader. Now, about the only things I read are on the internet and quilt books.Unfortunately, my daughter has taken over the shelves. Maybe, I need to talk hubby into building me yet another wall full of shelves near my sewing area.
