Here are a few pictures of my sewing room. Hopefully soon we will get it painted and laminate flooring put in. As you will see my stash is quite small compared with some but it is pretty to look at. My closet is 108" and that is where I keep my stash, ufo's, embroidery blanks etc. stored. There is a single window on the n. side and e. side and a double on the s. side. After we get the flooring in I will move my cabinet where the embroidery machines are to where the ironing board is and will turn my cutting table and long ways. Will have more room then over at my sewing machine.

brushandthimble 03-31-2011 05:27 PM

very nice! I would love a large room, but am happy I have 2 small rooms.

BeeNana 03-31-2011 05:27 PM

What a wonderful work room.
Lots of natural light and open space.
And a closet you could live in!
Thanks for showing it.
What kind of a table is big boy in?

barnbum 03-31-2011 05:28 PM

I love the thread!!! I have many colors, but haven't thought of the best way to keep them all together. Love your thread rack! :-D

dpparris 03-31-2011 05:28 PM

Very nice! I just wish I had a room just for quilting. I share the dinning room.

Colorful Quilter 03-31-2011 05:29 PM

What a wonderful sewing room to have fun in, now get busy!! haha

Cherylsea 03-31-2011 05:30 PM

Your sewing area is lovely! Very organized. The cabinet is perfect! Too much stash becomes a burden - especially trying to keep it organized so that you can find what you have. I have mine in bins and what I want is either at the bottom of a bin or in a bin at the bottom of a stack of bins. Looks like you do a bit of embroidery as well. Are you really going to paint your paneling?

craftybear 03-31-2011 05:35 PM

I love your sewing room

several years ago our family room had the dark paneling in it and we painted over it with paint (off white) and sure made the room brighter and we love it

(you don't need to fill in the cracks on the paneling as it gives it texture)

Congratulations!

suebee 03-31-2011 05:36 PM

Very nice Kacy :)

Maia B 03-31-2011 05:38 PM

Sa....Weeeeet! So organized! Your stash looks great, and your thread collection is amazing. Looks like you have a lot of great machines, too. Super studio!

kriscraft99 03-31-2011 05:50 PM

It is a horn I think. I went in to check the paperwork and I moved it yesterday and haven't a clue now where I put it. the front table will come up so you can have more room. I really like it. It has 2 drawers and a door which has a pull out drawer for a serger.

Yes I am. I have wanted to paint it for years. Need it light and bright......

Good organizer! Sew many machines! Wow!
Love all your threads. Did hubby make the holder?
Do you keep it covered so they don't get dusty and dirty?

Yes hubby made my thread racks. I don't cover them although alot of the thread has a plastic cover over it. I just dust it or vacumn it every once in a while.

sandraa 03-31-2011 06:05 PM

Great setup.

abdconsultant 03-31-2011 06:11 PM

nice set up!

Jan T 03-31-2011 06:11 PM

You are ALL set up. I envy all of those windows, but mostly how nicely your stuff is organized and arranged. I'll bet it is a joy to go in there to play.

MDMPanther 03-31-2011 06:19 PM

Wow.....I had to make myself close my mouth!! Love your space!! :)

kacy 49 03-31-2011 06:21 PM

Thanks for all of the nice comments. I have had this room for the past 3 years and decided to rearrange it this week so I could add the rest the rails to my quilting frame. It doesn't always look this neat when I am working on some my quilts. I always had to be so organized at work and guess I feel I still have to make sure my "desk" is neat.

alapetitechaise 03-31-2011 06:21 PM

Impressive, I am envious :-P

IrelandDragonQuilting 03-31-2011 06:26 PM

I have the same machine and frame that you have...could you tell me what kind of handles you are using or show a close up picture of them...I have been trying to figure out a way to put handles on mine.Where in OK are you....I am in the SE corrner

Mariposa 03-31-2011 08:20 PM

Neat room, and great stash! :)

KimS 03-31-2011 08:24 PM

Ohhhhhhhh I am sooooooooo jealous! I'd love to have an area like that. :-)

Rose L 03-31-2011 08:42 PM

What a beautifully organized sewing room. You have the perfect amount of stash and great thread holders too. I love how you used the shoe organizers for your stabilizers and stuff. And the pictures! Perfect place for them, where you can look at them frequently. I'm stealing that idea just as soon as I get my rooms all rearranged.

Rose L

Ps...on painting paneling, be sure to prime it first or the darkness of the wood will just absorb your paint color. Ask me how I know ;)

GGinMcKinney 03-31-2011 08:49 PM

Wow! Any quilter would be proud to have that room just as is.

gaby4v 03-31-2011 08:50 PM
