My husband bought me this sewing table last year. I am so short, a couple days ago he made some changes for me by making a hole for my sewing maching to fit in and now, I can reach the machine without any problems. What do you think?

I think it's great!!! I'm short, too and sometimes it feels like my shoulders are up around my ears when I'm sewing...LOL

I also have that Brother machine :)

Painiacs 05-05-2011 04:39 PM

I agree need a tute! My hubby wants to do one also!!

nursie76 05-05-2011 04:40 PM

That is awesome! So nice that your DH wanted to make your favorite pass time more comfortable and enjoyable for you!

Nettie Phillips 05-05-2011 04:44 PM

That works. I am like you, short and getting shorter. It is
hard to sit at the sewing machine very long.

familyfun 05-05-2011 04:49 PM

You have the same table I do and I love it.. I have often thought of cutting a hole in it for my machine. I am so glad you posted this picture. I was wondering the best way to attached the bottom board that the machine sits on to the top.. Great Idea.. thanks again.

Az Quilter 05-05-2011 04:51 PM

That's so great! You're really going to like having the sewing machine at a better height for you.

KathyAire 05-05-2011 04:57 PM

You got a great table and obviously a great hubby, too.

What is that thing on the left side of your machine?

I think your husband is a keeper. So neat that he did that for you. I would love to have this done with my sewing machine.

quiltsRfun 05-05-2011 05:42 PM

I think I like your setup. Bet that makes it a lot easier for you. Your hubby is a real sweetie.

ontheriver 05-05-2011 06:21 PM

It's great, hubby did fantastic job. I had an old table that had a machine in it but the machine was fried. Since my 10 yo grandson bought it for me at a yard sale with his hard earned 10.00 I did not want to hurt his feelings by not using it. I did explain the machine was not usable but the table alone was well worth it. After all, it is the thought that counts. So last week my sweetie did the same thing for me, he altered the table to fit my machine, it is great and DGS feels he did something special for his Nama.

quiltnmom 05-05-2011 06:28 PM

I love your sewing table. I have wondered if I could make something like this with a hand saw like one with small blades? I'll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing.
