Wanted to have this finished by today but wasn't going to happen. Just started on it to late and that chicken wire embroidery took longer than I thought it would. She will be hanging next year in all her glory!! If I get the binding on it  This was my first attempt at needle turn applique and want to THANK ALL OF YOU who helped me with places to go for instructions. Now am keeping my eyes open for something else I can work on like this in the evenings. Still don't like those inside points!!!

Cute! You did the chicken wire all by embroidery? Wow! I always thought that the background chicken wire was a printed fabric!
Very good job Margie, I love the expression on her face...I think if I attempt one of these I will just buy the chicken wire fabric *L* thanks for sharing!!

a.dor.able! Please, take my advice and get it done now! Me, I've set too many things aside to finish 'later.' And they don't get done. Great job.

You did a great job. I love it, it's adorable.
Where did you ever find a chicken wire embroidery pattern?
Ann in TN |
great job --was the wire free hand or a program--if so where did you get it -----i would hang it any way
Thanks all for the kind remarks. As for the chicken wire, I found a picture of some fabric, copy and pasted it into a program then got it to the size I wanted, made a copy and transferred it to my material.
I guess one advantage to not getting it finished is that now I can go to JoAnn's and maybe find some Easter material for the boarder and the back of it really cheep!!! |
How funny! What a sense of humor.
She is too darling. Love your colors
Very cute, you did a great job. Good luck finding cheap Easter fabric at Jo Anns.

I have this pattern also but if I have to embroider the wire there is NO CHANCE of it ever getting done. Hat's off to you for a great sewing job. It really is beautiful.
Very cute! I can't believe that you did all the chicken wire by hand! That must have really taken a long time.

It's adorable and will be ready to go next year. I've only been at this "quilting thing" about two years now, but I learned quickly I have to work the seasons ahead. Didn't get my Valentines Day wall hanging done so it's a next year too. Now I'm working Christmas projects so as to get them on the longarm schedule before the rush....ha ha! Great job.
too cute!
Love It!! I'm a chicken and rooster lover. Have them running around the farm.
Great job making the chicken wire. I thought it was the fabric. Joann's does have many types of chickie fabric on sale.
