I have no idea where I got all this homespun fabrics. I tried to use as much of it as possible. It’s not my favorite to work with. I really shouldn’t quilt such a large quilt on my DSM. Well it’s done and headed out of the house

Very Nice work. Did you quilt it on tour domestic machine?
I like it.
Beautiful quilt.
I've been wondering what to do with the homespuns I have, now I know. Yours came out very nice.
Beautiful! My son would love that for his dorm quilt. Now I have more ideas.
very pretty quilt
Very nice, great job !
Great homespun quilt!
Wonderful job. I agree that homespun are not the easiest to work with, but the finished quilt is wonderful, cozy, and timeless.
Why did you not like working with the homespun? I have a stash of it, too, and maybe you can "pre-warn" me of what problem it could give me. Love your quilt. It's a very appropriate pattern for homespuns.
Great job!
Very lovely quilt. You did a great job!
I love your quilt and I love homespuns. I have found lightly starching them makes them behave better. That's the only thing I do differently than when working with quilting cottons or batiks. I agree the end results are so warm and inviting.
Sewingsuz yes I quilted it on my DSM. What a struggle. Illinois the problem I found was with the looser weave it will stretch a bit as you work with it.
thanks for all the comments |
I love this! Such a homey comfortable quilt that screams vintage style, well done!
Nice traditional quilt. Feels nice and warm. Well done.
I was hand starch homespun and that makes it easier to work with.
You conquered the homespun in a most beautiful way. I don't think I would have the strength or the patience to quilt bigger quilts on a DSM. Good job.
Lovely!!! I never get tired of traditional patterns. Yours is so pretty!
That is very nice. Excellent work!
It’s a lovely quilt.
it is so pretty.
It is a lovely quilt and looks so comfy and cozy...I think you did a wonderful job quilting it on your DSM.
Awesome quilt, especially love the quilting!
I love your quilt. Why did you not like working with homespuns? You did a great job on this quilt.
Now, that's a quilt. I love that pattern and it looks so cozy and love the homespuns.
It's beautiful and just screams "home" and "snuggly".

Love your quilt! I have been collecting home spuns for a quilt. I need some light fabric for contrast What did you use?
Oh I love it! The plaids reminds me of grandpa (his shirts and pjs). And I love the pattern too, It's perfect for this.
That's beautiful! Well done!
That is a lovely quilt. I've never worked with homespun fabric. It looks great.
Beautiful quilt and quilting.
Thanks all. Kaye, I used muslin for the background. Seemed to be a good match with homespun. Homey and comfy are exactly what my DD said and she has claimed it.
Very pretty quilt, good way to use your homespuns.
Great looking quilt!!!
Really well done. Great that is's large enough to fit that bed. Your work is stellar and the old-timey Shoo Fly pattern is perfect.
Love this quilt. What size are your blocks, please? BrendaK
BrendaK I made the blocks 12 inches. This quilt is laying on a double bed at the moment. It will fit well on a queen or king
