This is a block of the month I've been working on.... actually, I did month 1 and then pretty much collected the rest without doing anything on it! lol
But just lately I've felt like doing some hand work, and have been spending the evenings doing these blocks. Only two left to do and then I can put it all together. Couldn't resist today, laid them all out to see how they look. This is the order they go in, with a sashing between, and then a border. Plus the two missing blocks from the bottom left. |
Oh Blue now that is purrrfect!!! :D :D :D
|
Oh Blue, they are gorgeous!! :D
I can hardly wait to see them all put together. Keep sharing, as you make progress!! :D :D :D :D :D |
Thanks! :-)
I'm doing the cats by needleturn, and since giving in and buying some glasses for the close work, it's going fast. I hope to have the last two blocks done by the end of the week. |

I have two pairs of glasses - one are 'reactolites', you know that go dark in the sun. One night I was doing my bias on the rooster for the IRR and wondered why I couldn't see, my nose was nearly up against the fabric (I have a daylight lamp) and yup, you guessed it, I was wearing the reactolites! 8) |
Absolutely! LOL
I have bi-focal type glasses that sit on the end of my nose so I can look over them at the tv. Hubby laughs hysterically every time I look at him! I also have a "head lamp"... not sure what it's originally invented for but it's a small lamp with a head band, so it's perfect for doing handwork. |

PMSL!
Of COURSE you are, mate! 8) |
Not buying it huh. Neither is hubby! LOL
Maybe I need to work on the delivery.... maybe a seductive flutter of the eyelashes as I peer over my bi-focals. |
Maybe he's blinded by the lamp so can't get the full effect of your sexiness?!
|
Oh!!!! That might be it! Thank you!
LOL |
I might be a dog person - but I LOVE your cats.
|
lol
I'm a dog person too. :-) I always thought Siamese cats were ugly, till I got owned by one! ;-) |
Wow!!!! I Love it..
|
AWESOME! Bet you can't wait to get this one finished.
|
I love that the blocks are all different sizes. It's going to be pretty when you finish it up.
|
Really very artistic! The poses are so dead on -- very coy!
|
Love it! You are a great artist!
|
IT"S BEAUTIFUL!!!
You are sending to me when you are done, right?? |
OMG, WHERE did you get that BOM from?
I HAVE to do one like that, I mean if you don't mind sharing where you got the pattern from. My siamese kitty is sitting on my lap as we speak. :p |
I love simese cats too. love your quilt and the different shape blocks. i know your excited to finish it. please post again when it's done.
|
Man ... that black and white looks good on batik! I hope you don't mind if I steal this idea. It is really stunning.
That being said, This siamese are adorable. What a way cool quilt! |
That is a cool quilt. Only a Siamese would demand a whole quilt dedicated to her. I love the blue eyes.
|
Very nice Blue!!
|
That is really cool!
|
They are great blocks! The cats almost seem real! Great job!
|
Love it!
|
As a cat person, I LOVE the quilt. And as a glasses wearer, I can truly relate to the comments there. Please show how it looks with the two added blocks as soon as you are ready! Your work is awesome!
|
Beautiful work Blue. Can't wait to see the finished top.
|
Love it. I've been thinking about Siamese blocks.
I'm a dog person with a Meezer. He's more dog than cat, of course. Used to have two of them. Should probably go get another one. The pound is always full of them. I have magnifying headgear for close work. Reminds me of half a welder's mask. Unattractive. |
Blue Chicken..Love your cats they look FANTASTIC!!!!
I have one of those headlights too (for hiking), but may use for sewing if I need to now. (LOL). I too look over my glasses at the TV; will have to ask DH if he thinks that sexy or not "LOL" |
MEOW!!!! That means I love it!! What a terrific job. Can't wait to see it all together.
About your having to wear glasses, I heard Red Skelton once say "I've reached the age when curiosity now outweighs vanity." |

Blue,
This is an awesome BOM  Thank you for sharing, my cats look at me funny with my gear on. They don't understand why those threads are not for chasing and catching as they come through the fabric. Anxiously await the finished product. |

:D
It's the desire for tiny wee invisible stitches that overrides my vanity! lol I got all the pieces for the last two blocks done last night, traced onto freezer paper, cut out, ironed onto the fabric, and cut out again. In the middle of ironing them onto the other side. I never thought of taking photos, I don't think I do anything special, but will take photos of the steps and see what you think. Baren*eh*ked_canadian, I got you message, will post the name of the patter here in case others want to know too. :-) It's called "Temple Guardians" by Helene Knott, put out by StoryQuilts.com |
