Beautiful, some great suggestions from the others, maybe you could add some appliqued pieces in the broderie perse style. These could be applied to the plainer pieces in between your lovely embroidery. Don't be scared to be a little 'over the top', other colours could be introduced this way. Braids, beads and old buttons (the small decorative glass kind) can also be inserted here and there. I think your piece is just lovely....let us know how you progress ....you know how we love pictures.

This is a fine quilt. Your heirs will be wowed by your work. I made one 2 years back, won some ribbons. I found that I was best avoiding continuous lines right on edges. Things like your little flowers worked much better for me too. I used the Montano books for inspiration. I was planning on having mine to enjoy as a lap quilt. DH had a fit and immediately hung it on the wall where he can admire it from his recliner.

I like your embroidery. Don't do too much ripping out. You will learn as you go. Crazy quilts are not meant to be perfect unless you are teaching or selling.
I think you may need more dimension - beads, heavier embroidery threads like DMC Perle, lace, findings, and buttons. |
Nicely done!!!
