Simple HST Quilt

2 Attachment(s)
Finished this today. The front HSTs finish at 4", and the back is pieced with 7" squares. It is simple, but it's bright! :)

I love it! Both sides are wonderful.

Looks like a fun, yet quick quilt...like the SID stitching on the back.

What a great way to use some of your scraps. I personally love colorful quilts and don't think it's too bright. Fun quilt.

skypony 02-29-2016 05:54 AM

both sides are really cool.

jamsbuying 02-29-2016 05:59 AM

Great job, love the colors!

coopah 02-29-2016 06:10 AM

Simple, but perfect in workmanship, colors, everything. Nice!

Just Jan 02-29-2016 06:27 AM

What a fun quilt! I love both sides. Great job on the reversible quilt and the straight line quilting! Made me think one could use a pillow panel in the center. I have one with a big hen, that I didn't know what to do with... think I will borrow your idea and surround it with HSTs (4 per block.) like you did. I just love everything about your quilt! Thanks for posting it.

celwood 02-29-2016 06:55 AM

Very nice. I love that it is reversible.

What a great scrappy quilt!

fayeberry 02-29-2016 08:18 AM

I like simple quilts very much, and also quilts without borders. It's a winner in my book.

lynnie 02-29-2016 09:47 AM

very pretty and bright. such perfect points on the triangles too!

Painiacs 02-29-2016 10:19 AM

Love that it's reversible and bright n cheery!!!!!

deeleigh 02-29-2016 10:39 AM

Love your quilt! Could you tell me how you made your half square triangles? I have been trying different methods to make 5" finished and have not found one that works for me.Tried 8 at a time have easy angle and several others.I looked for the papers on Nancy's Notions but they only go up to 4".

EmiliasNana 02-29-2016 10:53 AM

Love it and a great scrap buster.

AngeliaNR 02-29-2016 10:56 AM

For these (4" finished) I cut two 5" squares, drew a diagonal line, sewed .25" on both sides of the line, cut them, pressed them open, and sliver trimmed to 4.5". For 5" finished, you would start with a 6" square.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

GailG 02-29-2016 11:36 AM

I like that you had a scrappy look but chose to use 4-patch in like pieces. Beautiful quilt. It is beyond me how you "lined up" the back squares to come out so nice with the stitching on the front.

gramquilter2 02-29-2016 12:00 PM

Really like both sides of your quilt. Love the bright colors.

kaylfordsollimo 02-29-2016 12:10 PM
