I usually just lurk around this site, but I had to say how wonderful this quilt is!!!!! So impressed!! This is just the sort of creative work I would love to be able to do with my quilting. Congrats!!

Love the quilt!

sewbizgirl 04-04-2019 08:20 AM

I love your quilt! So amazing. I would be so proud if I had made it.

RedGarnet222 04-04-2019 08:22 AM

Oh Dear! I love your quilt, teen. I think we must be sisters from another mother. My favorite things would be very similar to yours in content. I truly just love everything about it. Especially that you made up your own pattern. Only mine would have had cherries, a glass of lemonade, a cat and a birdbath with birds included.

What a great sampler! Did you find your working with the JK quilts helped in the making of this?
Love it, Teen!

OK...JK patterns definitely helped me realize how much I love a non-uniform quilt layout and that it is OK. It also helped in designing this for assembly since one cannot assemble this in rows but needs to be assembled in sections. There are 4 sections and each section had different components to assemble together before section could be assembled. EQ8 made this really easy since I could see the layout visually and determine best way to assemble and make adjustments. I would make changes on my next one, which there will be cuz I'm hooked. Lol... Probably applique since I have a ton of applique designs saved up, too. Lordy....

Love the look of this quilt - so clean and crisp and with such great vintage fabrics. You've done a great job combining patterns and coming up with a balanced, interesting and well-done quilt!

Oh wow!!! This is pure happiness! *And* inspiration! If I ever brave doing PP -I'd love to do a few blocks with the lipstick - so cute! Congratulations on a beautiful quilt!

This is so adorable! My favorite block is the dress in the upper left-hand corner.

janjanq 04-05-2019 06:11 AM

Love this quilt. I especially like the way you pieced the dress on the upper left corner. Outstanding quilt!

DJ 04-09-2019 05:55 AM

That's a great name for your quilt; and it's perfectly you!

I love the stories about how some quilts come about. They seem to have their own story to tell if you listen closely.

barny 04-09-2019 06:15 AM

I just now saw your gorgeous quilt. It is just so, so awesome. It is you so wonderfully well. Beautiful, creative, and beautiful. So many words, but not enough.

Sharonquilts 04-09-2019 11:44 PM

Love this quilt! Simply beautiful ... the colors, layout, different designs. You should be very proud of your design. As GingerK noted, I too like the negative space. Congrats!

materialworld 04-11-2019 07:51 AM

Amazing! You are certainly creative, and a wonderful quilter. Congrats on this beauty!

A1penny 04-12-2019 03:09 AM

What a wonderful quilt! Absolutely beautifully done. It is the kind of quilt you could spend hours looking at, and never tiring.

Darcyshannon 04-12-2019 03:51 PM

Absolutely adorable! The similar fabrics help pull it all together and I like the negative space that allows each element to shine.

Did EQ8 help you with color/fabric placement along with figuring out what to add in around the blocks?

I have a collection of 1920s and 1930s fabric and doing something like this would be fun. I have not wanted to just do a one pattern quilt. Just doing an assortment of blocks of both piecing and applique could add a fresh twist.

buddy'smom 04-12-2019 04:27 PM

OMG Teen this quilt is stunning. I just love it. So much time and thought went into it. I know your proud of this quilt and I so would be as well.

Teen 04-13-2019 07:43 AM

Thank you, once again, for the many lovely comments..

Yes, EQ8 was fantastic for both. Made it super easy to move blocks around and adjust sizing, adding filler strips and distributing color. This was my first project in EQ8 and I designed basic layout in a day...I've since designed more quilts Lol...

anonymous 04-13-2019 08:02 AM

I love everything about your quilt, everything. I wish I could put it all together like you did. Amazing job!

Allysgrandma 04-13-2019 09:10 AM

I just love it! I have 3 daughters and 3 young granddaughters, 10, 5 and 4. I am so inspired I can't even tell you! I have made a commitment to make quilts for my granddaughters every year. Last year I made Pretty Playtime Quilts and the year before that I made them name quilts using Moda's Spell It Booklet. Why am I telling you all this? I don't know but I have ideas buzzing around in my head and thanks for linking up Charise Creates blog. I immediately put it in my blog folder!

SusieQOH 04-13-2019 05:47 PM
