simple scrap quilt finish

Sorry, I have no idea what this block is called. I call quilts like these my "monkey see, monkey do" quilts. I saw something, somewhere, and then tried to do it myself. It came in handy for practicing on the longarm and will probably be donated. Another UFO bites the dust.

It's a pretty quilt with lots of bright pretty colors.

Oh this is a cute quilt. Did you make the squares first or the rail strip blocks, please do tell. This looks like a great stash buster quilt.
|
FabStripper, I made the rails first.
|
Pretty quilt! Great colors, and I like the yellow border-adds zip! :)
|
It's very colorful. I like it!

I love the scrappy design!!! I would love to do this for some charity quilts too, but I am not very good with triangles. What size are the triangles and squares??
|
Very nice design. Love the colors.
|
Jeanne S, I found it! Here is a link to where I saw the quilt pattern. She calls it Scrappy Gridlock. I'm not sure how I came up with my measurements, but the blocks I made finished around 4.25". It was an experiment, and a long time ago.

Very pretty and bright....

What an interesting design to use up those scraps that build up with nothing to put them into. I think I might have to monkey do too!
I really enjoyed seeing your quilt. Colorful and happy. |
Eleanor Burns had this quilt pattern in one of her books. She called it Early Fireworks quilt.

Quilter's Cache has a 12 inch block called Cracker that will produce a similar quilt:

Kathy T. Yes, that's it! I pieced mine a little differently, but you get to the same place. Good job on finding the name of the block.

You may call it simple but I call it terrific! To me, anything on white is so crisp and clean looking. Love it. Kind of you to donate. Will make someone smile.
