I've had this pattern for awhile and decided to do one after doing the Bow Tucks. The pattern is very much like the Bow Tucks, even down to how the pockets are done.
The black part is a complete bag in itself, just plain black, and the colored bottom is a cover, or sleeve, that goes over the bag and elastic loops go over the buttons to hold it on. This cover is reversible. One side of the reversible cover can be done from a fat quarter... a world of possibilities for different looks for the bag from my FQ stash. :) |

I love your bag!!

Cute bags!!

Could make one solid colored bag for the women/girls you would make a bag for, whatever their favorite color is, then for any occasion or holiday, you could make a new cover for their bag.

LOVE IT!

Cutsie bag. Would work super for holiday fabric. Make one side Halloween, other side Fall themed. Mmmmmmm, think I better find this pattern. ;-)

Great looking bag.
|
That's pretty cool. A new bag every week, I like that.
|
What a great idea! And you can change the look without having to empty out the contents - great for someone like me, I'm sure there are things living in the bottom of MY bag that are best not disturbed! LOL

I thought it was cool. Might not want to make a whole bag to match something specifically but, a cover is pretty quick to do.
The elastic loops were tricky to try and baste down by machine. The needle would hit it and the loop would get stuck on the needle. I resorted to using a dab of permanent fabric glue that I used in making a metal frame purse. Since the loops are inside when the cover and it's lining are being sewn. I pulled them straight down and pinned them so they wouldn't be pushed all over by the needle and I couldn't see if they were straight. |
well done.

I to made one of these bags and sold it for Easter. It was a yellow with blue and white cover. The lady just loved it. It is a very easy bag and I intend to make a lot more for this easter.
