That is one of the most gorgeous machines Singer made. Good for you to clean her up! :D

It's been brought to my attention, and talked about, that I've posted pictures of two different machines stating before and after
quote: 'side-by-side' BEFORE and AFTER pictures of it. Yes, there are two machines sitting on this table, I've stated that. I've also stated I will post pictures of both machines side by side when they are both done. Then there will be no question or back biting. If you've got issues with me, say it to me, not childish cattiness. Oy'... |
Gorgeous!! In the first couple of pics it looks as if part of the machine is already cleaned and part of it still dirty. Do you mean that you used the L-Wrench on the black/decal part of your red-eye?! I'm going to give it a try!!!!! I have several red eyes that I cleaned with sewing machine oil but they didn't come as clean as that!
I have to laugh at your work area. I have those same things sitting on my table when I work. Is that also a bottle of Howard's Feed-N-Wax peeking out from under that rag? Awesome stuff. |

In the first couple of pictures I started to clean it, then realized I didn't have any before pictures. The wet / shiny part is where I started. Yes, I'm using Liquid Wrench on everything. The Feed and Wax is from the treadle I restored on Sat. If you search my threads, you'll find pictures of it. One of these 66's were with that cabinet, one is with a thrashed cabinet still sitting on the floor. You'll see the can of L-Wrench and a can of Bug and Tar in the background of the pictures. I used the Bug and Tar on a 201 I just cleaned. |

Very slow process. Now on the insides...spray, rub with toothbrush and take out frustration. Will shine up nice and purdy =) |
WOW! Sure turned out pretty!
Nice job! |
Beautiful!

its unbelieveable how the decals can be under all that black stuff...I used kerosene (Billy recommended) and was amazed when the lotus blossom started emerging..LOL Takes alot of soaking and scrubbing but so pretty when done.
