This is the first of a pair of 'quicky' stash and scraps quilt, I decided to buy fleece for the back and used a thin cotton batting, it is so cosy!!
These are for my son and girlfriend to snuggle under while watching tv!! The pattern started off as a square in a square, which you slash offset then reorganise each corner...bit like the D9P :D I will put a link up when I can find the website I got it from, :D |
Awesome Izy! Looks very cozy!! Do you get cold winters there? Good to hear from you!!!!!!!!!
|
I love the quilt design, so would like a link when you find it please, I love your choice of colours, and the fancy stitches for quilting, but best of all, I love your name for this quilt. Made me feel very hungry!

Hi Jan,
Yes it gets nippy in the evenings, or like today when it rains it can be chilly, but not bad, it's just after having high temperatures you feel it when it drops !! My son lives in the UK, and it's blinking freezing there already!! :D |
Wow, that is nice and cozy looking.
|
Thanks, yes it has turned out lovely and soft...I am now tempted just to give them one to share and maybe keep the other for myself lol!!  :D
|
Very nice! I like the decorative stitching, too. Gives it more character.
|
Very nice!

Your quilts are pretty. I like the stitch you used to quilt them.
Fleeced backed quilts are one of my favorite ways to make what I call "quick quilts". I make most of my baby/children quilts that way. I use fairly dense fleece and do not put any batting it them. Works great. I often use a "connecting" stitch (074 on my Q6600 machine). It goes pretty quickly. I love it for stitching the fleece down on the front of the quilt--I nearly always bring the fleece from the back to the front to form the binding. |

I love it for stitching the fleece down on the front of the quilt--I nearly always bring the fleece from the back to the front to form the binding. I did wrap the fleece round to the front and used the same herringbone type stitch to finish it, all very quick and easy, no problems with the fleece, it had no stretch length ways, so quilted that way first to hold it all , lots of pins and not one pucker I am pleased to say phew!! :D |
Oooohhh, I love everything about that!
|
:D There's a link to the pattern, I could have done less quilting, to emphasise the central squares, but couldn't be bothered stopping and starting  :D

You do beautiful work! Angie :O) I have done several D9P which start off as a nine patch, this pattern starts off as a framed square, which is the subcut off centre then rearranged before sewing back together...errrmmm clear as mud??? Have a look at the link I posted on page 1 so you can see what I mean  :D :D |
It's really lovely. I love the name of it, too.
|
Love the snuggy quilt. Thanks for the link. It's a little to hot for me in Georgia to have a fleece backing, but I like the idea.
|

Beautiful Izy! Oooh I could murder a Choc Orange!
I've just done a throw with zigzags for the quilting, and I saw one amma had done too - must be something in the air! I love the look it gives, like a modern take on 'crazy'. :D Right, off to check out that pattern! |

Hi Izy,
You do such beautiful work. Now I know why I haven't heard from you. You have been just sewing away, huh? Btw, did I mention how beautiful your work is? Can't wait to see more. Love Ya, Bev |
Izy...cool quilts! Lately, I've been trying the decorative stitching to sew down my bindings from the front. I have yet to try doing the actual quilting with them....but its coming! I love your fabrics on these...just yummy!!!!
