here are 2 of the small snap bags I made....( I have made about 30 or more) I used the tutorial from http://tatteredgarden.blogspot.com/2...-tutorial.html
Most of them I lined also with plastic zip lock bags so they will be good for snacks or cosmetics etc |
Thanks for the pic. They look lovely and are very useful also. I am going to give this a try.

Great idea, cute bags

Thanks for the tut. There is a little girl that sits next to me in church and she alway's has Cheerios in a Ziploc that goes all over. She can't quite get the hang of the zip part. She's still pretty young. I think I will make her one of these.

I love the shape of these and the purpose. We are doing them at our retreat on Labor Day. I did a bunch for gifts last Christmas.
|
Those are too cute! I'm not much of a bag maker, but I think even I could do some of those. Thanks for the pics & the link to the blog instructions.
Now to find some metal tape measures... :D |
these are so neat! I'm going to look for some tape measures next time I'm at a dollar store! Thanks for posting. Do you cut your ziplock bags for the lining? Probably a silly question, but I'm having trouble visualizing!! Thanks for posting the tutorial info too!
|
Wow... I'm amazed at how clever people are at re-purposing things. I must have tossed more than one tape measure with a broken spring. The ones in the house are used all the time, so I can't cannibalize them.
|
I've made these also. The instructions I had were a little different but all comes out the same way. I use mine to put my rotary cutter, scissors, etc for when I got to my sewing classes.
|
Those are so cute. I can think of lots of uses.
|
thank you for the link

Thanks for the pics, I'm going to make these for dog training, to keep smelly treats in.Now all I have to do is find the metal closures somewhere on line. Any ideas where?
Forgot to look before posting, it uses an actual tape measure. Even better. Two plumbers and a builder as son/soninlaws, they break ém regularly. |
Really Cute. Thank you for showing us these.

Thank you for sharing! I'd given up looking on line for a pattern/tutorial, finally bought the pattern at a shop a few weeks ago. Oh well.
Yours are very cute & I like the idea of lining w/ plastic bag. |

Sue Fish, great idea using the plastic bags, they do sew up fast especially using the double sides pre-quilted fabric..........calla/Sue

I would love to make these...my Daughter is just in First Grade and there are many years of lunches left. I have seen them with wide velcro and don't see any prbolem altering to do so also, but my main question is, is there anything more 'permanant' than a ziplock to line them with...something washable? Vinyl maybe? Ideas?
|
I made one and sewed vinyl in it. I made it to be a make up bag. I will get it postdd within the next couple days.
