This is my new Pfaff Smarter c1100. I did have a Pfaff Expression 4 but it was giving me major problems so my LQS exchanged it for the Smarter. Also is a picture of a wip. I have to add 3 rows of flying geese and add the borders. I've ordered the border fabric and I'm just waiting for it to arrive

Never heard of Smarter. It looks like it has a deep throat on it. Does it have the built in walking foot?? I too have expressions 4 and had had it back too many times to count, they keep telling me that they will get it going better, and have fixed many things on it, it's getting better.

Baloonatic 02-28-2011 10:38 AM

Wow, great geese!!!

quiltlonger 02-28-2011 11:07 AM

As soon as I see those geese out my window will know Spring is on the way!! Should go fast with a new machine and new fabric.

Congrats on your machine! I have the Exp 3 and so far no probs. What are the advantages with C1100?

Your quilt design is from Pam Bono isn't it? It's so well done!

The Smarter is the newest in Pfaff's lineup. Its throat is slightly smaller than the Expression 4. I'm having a few small problems, the under side stitches aren't exactly what I think they should be. However, sometimes they're great. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Both are looking fabulous!!!!!!

Its supposed to be heavy duty. It has everything the Expression 4 except the foot up/down control is by a control stick you use with your leg (bit of a pain so I just use my hand.

Yes it is Pam Bono. I love her patterns.

lovely wip.keep up the great work and boy what a difference the machine makes.

Congrats! Looks like one great machine. Like my Quest Plus, but has even more feature: low bobbin alert, auto thread cutter, electronic tension. Tell us how it's working out after awhile. And your geese quilt is super! Very happy for you.

That is a really great representation of "Flying Geese". Could you tell me where the pattern came from. My son is a goose hunter and I'd love to make it for him.

nabobw 03-01-2011 06:03 AM
