Okay it is 90% applique and the rest is pieced, some paper piece and some block cut.

This was my first try at a quilt and I have had to put it to the side to make one for a new GD, then got side tracked by various project at my Sewing Group and now I am back to finish it.

Its for my Daughter and Son in law. I have just been speaking to my Daughter and she has been telling me all their plans about coming here to live. They know nothing about this quilt its a surprise. They are coming out to Spain next year to give it a go and live out here for 1 year, hopefully everything will be fine and they will love it and not want to go back to England.

Marcia, its really not that difficult and I have seen your Chicken Quilt you did a fab job on the applique there.

Elle, I remember seeing some of this before and just ADORING it! You are adventerous and talented! I would have been WAY too intimidated by that to even consider! I love the colors and fabrics you chose, especially the - is it plaid? The fabric with the cat, in the house(s) and with the heart/flower block.

Did the fabric come all chosen for you or did you do that yourself? Those things never occur to me but I just love this!!!!!

Okay to answer the questions the hows and where fors so to speak.

Bearpaw, this was something that our group leader did it came as a pattern.

Celeste, I chose all the colours, yes it is plaid, I wasnt´sure about it at first but id does work. The original quilt was in subdued browns and creams, lovely, but as it is for my daughter and she is a GREEN person I did it in these and it just kinda came together.

Thank you everyone for your comments and without you the sashings would have been a real problem the colour you all chose was perfect.
