I'm working on a king sized Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass window quilt ( the tree of life window) this so far has caused me fits! Constructing it in 3sections, top, center & bottom, I've about worn out my seam ripper. Griped, complained, pouted.... Then all of a sudden, today it all started to come together... Yea! Here is a peek at the top section. 😆

now that is fabulous; i have contemplated that design, but that's as far as i got...very pretty colors! can't wait to see more!

I have made a Frank Lloyd Wright quilt and they are hard to keep all the lines straight and the same size!! That is a beautiful FLW!!!!!

It's beautiful! Are the thin black lines pieced or appliquéd bias tape?

My DH bought me a book of designs adapted from Frank LLoyd Wright's stained glass but I have never been brave enough to try one. Yours is beautiful! I can hardly wait to see the finished product.

The black lines started as 3/4" wide strips, sewn into the seams - quick, fusible bias would have been easier... But expensive, considering how much I needed. I have (3) strips to add that are 103" long-- Ugh! Going to be using a Lot of pins! I will be happy to have this top finished ( hoping today) I am really looking forward to quilting this one. 😆

I've learned a lot along this journey... Too late now ways I could have done parts which would have been much easier.... But its all about the journey/process and it is now coming all together. Yea!
As soon as I finish my cup of coffee I will go in and finish. We are traveling this weekend, Detroit for a tiger's game and our room has a king bed so, I'm going to take it with me so I can see how it looks/fits the king- that's the next big ( oh I hope I planned this right). I will try to get pics too - it is hard to get good pics of a king when its snowing/sleeting outside. I should be able to show /share the completed top Sunday then I just have to wait for the ordered backing to arrive. I am excited to quilt it. :) |

Beautiful! I had the same idea of using a stained glass Frank Lloyd Wright window too! If I get brave, I will remember you are now the "expert" lol!

It's beautiful and I think worth the aggravation. I've had quilts like that - I'm tempted to toss in the towel, but stick to it and wind up loving the quilt as it all comes together.
