This group by Brannock & Patek should be shipping to stores in March. Moda is doing precuts: FQ bundles, jelly rolls, charms, layer cakes and turnovers.

Please say what you think of the colors. They're lilacs, so I understand the purples and greens and creams but I'm always a little afraid of Moda's browns because sometimes the shade is ... odd. How does the brick red fit in here?

littlehud 10-30-2010 06:33 AM

They are pretty but I really don't like lilacs so they are not my thing.

peaceandjoy 10-30-2010 06:39 AM

LOVE it. Lilacs are huge around here. Rochester has a lovely lilac festival every year.

Rebecca VLQ 10-30-2010 06:41 AM

Not crazy about the plaids or the large-scale lilacs in the beginning, but the rest is LOVELY! :D

trueimage 10-30-2010 06:57 AM

I like this!

sueisallaboutquilts 10-30-2010 06:59 AM

I think those birds are so cute!! :D

scoobertina 10-30-2010 07:04 AM

I like them all.. except I am not crazy at all about the reds..

nursie76 10-30-2010 07:07 AM

I love lilacs so I love this fabric. But, not sure how the reds with the lilacs work in with the rest. The other reds without the lilacs would be nice, but not with the other lilac fabrics....

Candace 10-30-2010 08:58 AM

#3 for not crazy about the red.

wolfkitty 10-30-2010 09:01 AM

I like most of this line, except for the red with lilac (color) on it. I love lilac flowers. Not a plaid person, either.

IrishNY 10-30-2010 10:05 AM

I love lilacs (grew up in Rochester so it is almost mandatory..lol) but I don't care for the brown or reds in this line. Lilacs are spring flowers so throwing fall colors into the fabric seems wrong and out of balance to me.

luv2look 10-30-2010 10:09 AM

I love it all! Reds, browns, lilacs, plaids. It's really different and I love different. Eye catching.
I have a difficult time putting things together . . . until I see it. Love it!

MomtoBostonTerriers 10-30-2010 10:11 AM

Love the reds, but I'm not a fan of the browns. What a nice collection.

plainjane 10-30-2010 10:11 AM

I like all but the plaids (hard to use without looking like you can't cut straight !:) I may be odd, but I even like the brick and browns-used sparingly-good accent colors with the traditional greens/lilacs. I really like this.

Sadiemae 10-30-2010 10:22 AM

I hope they are prettier in person, because they seem quite odd to me!

GypsyRse1 10-30-2010 01:59 PM

I can't wait, I hope they make this line in a turnover pack. I am really learning to love those packs. Versatile, quick, easy and all the fabrics work together. Yep, I cannot wait.

quiltnchik 10-30-2010 02:02 PM

Love them all except the plaids.

bjnicholson 10-30-2010 02:04 PM

I like them all except the red one with the lilies on it.

rismstress 10-30-2010 02:11 PM

I like the lilac main fabric. I also like most of the rest. I don't like the red ones- they don't go. Also, the plaids are too country for such a romantic design. The browns are more olive colored- not too bad but I wouldn't buy those either.

I like them all!

lillybeck 10-30-2010 02:29 PM

I love them all.

klgreene 10-30-2010 02:35 PM

I love it. I had lilac's that probably covered an acre when I lived in Minnesota. I have one bush now. I miss them. They always made the spring smell wonderful.

Tippy 10-30-2010 02:37 PM

I love these... even the reds

Your wish will be granted, Moda is doing a turnover pack for this line.

snow 10-30-2010 03:52 PM

Don't like the reds with the other colors but love the colors.

trisha 10-30-2010 08:29 PM

Love the purple fabrics, that's about it.

CindyinNY 10-30-2010 08:34 PM

I love lilacs but the only one I'd be interested in is the light green with the lilacs. The others just don't call to me.

sunrise450 10-31-2010 06:58 AM

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. I love it all. I also love the brick background with the lilac, it makes the lilac really stand out.

JoyVoltenburg 10-31-2010 07:05 AM

I like them all except the plaids. I'm not sure how some of them will look in blocks, but I like the smaller print ones. I'm not sure I like the red and purple together, though.

wildyard 10-31-2010 05:27 PM

I like all except the plaids, which are too large for my taste. I'm thinking the red tones might be to replicate a brick background. Lilacs against a brick building are stunning, just perhaps not quite in this application. Smilessssssssssss.

TN Donna 10-31-2010 05:38 PM

I love the lilacs and the birds too. I am not a red person but you made it look great.

JoAnnGC 10-31-2010 05:57 PM

I think it's an odd color pairing because lilacs are a spring/early summer flower and that red has a very autumnal feel. Overall it reminds me of wallpaper from the fifties. If I were going to pick a lilac fabric I would prefer something from the Michael Miller Flower Fairies collection which has more of a springtime lightness.

RST 10-31-2010 06:35 PM

I won't buy it, because it's not my style, but I do like the red included -- otherwise it's quite fuddy duddy and predictable color-wise. The brick red gives it a bit of a wake up. I think the bird pattern is cute, and if I were making a quilt with it, I'd probably use more of the birds and less of some of the bigger floral.

Mariposa 10-31-2010 06:55 PM

Nice collection, but I don't care for the reds. Browns either. Lilacs are fair weather flowers-not fall, so ....

fktsewing 11-04-2010 05:56 PM

love the lilacs, but the red and dark brown's are ugly. They should have gone with a deep pink instead--nothing too bright but eligant

Favorite Fabrics 11-07-2010 12:17 PM

The Moda sales rep came through this week, and so I got to see the sample swatches of this line.

The brown is actually a nice chocolate brown, not an ugly color. And the red is a bit deeper and not as rusty as the pictures make it out to be.

The smaller scale lilac print was quite lovely, more so than the larger one in my opinion.

Thought you might like the update... in case you were wondering what the colors really looked like!

IBQUILTIN 11-07-2010 03:23 PM

They are ok, but I don't think I would purchase any of these. They just aren't my thing

madamekelly 11-07-2010 03:48 PM

I can see that many here will like these fabrics, but they are not my cup of tea. Nice colors, I just prefer brights.

pbreon 01-27-2011 08:04 PM

I love this line!! Jan Patek did a class with our guild and a trunk show... the quilt Lilac Hill is stunning and I bought the pattern and am waiting for the fabric to come out!!!
will you let me know whsen you get it in???

trisha 01-27-2011 08:46 PM

I think the colors are a little on the dull side, but that's just me.
