Sold at auction!!!

I put together this quilt top for a friend who traded me my sewing for her quilting. She quilted two tops for me in trade for me putting together this quilt top for her. A member of her family is Autistic and when the clinic asked for donations for a fund raising auction she quilted up the top and donated it. Well…it sold for $1500…. I wish I had a pic of the quilted top. My picture really doesn’t do it justice. It is very very pretty. The quilt was king size and the picture only shows half of it. :o) I just can't believe something I helped to make went for $1500 at a charity auction....

About 9 years ago my mom gave me a quilt (queen size) made by a lady from where she works. She paid $1000 for it. I think it's beautiful and I love it. She also gave my 2 sisters and brother one from her. My mom was so happy when she gave them to us...and so were we :) I told my Mom the colors I like and the quilter bought material. Glad yours raised so much money...beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic quilt and for such a worthy cause. Congrats to both of you!
I know, right!!?? I also made a quilt last year (a throw) for an auction to raise money for our local firefighters. Makes you feel real good when they raise a good dollar, for charity! They called & asked if I could make one this year too, so at this moment, I am working on that!! Asking for a second quilt, is 'payment' for me!
You must be proud. To get that much at an auction is phenomenal. Great work for autism!!!
That is great. We need more auctions like this for worthy causes
It is beautiful - and a great cause.
How great, both the quilt and the price for Autistic Children.
Love your colors choice.. |
