My first OBW quilt (in process). I'd never heard of such a thing until I started reading here a couple of weeks ago. I have to say ... I *love* this method of quilting! The "hardest" part was pinning the fabric before cutting it, but it wasn't really HARD hard. Just a little time-consuming is all. The second pic is the original fabric.

I think I'm going to put a black border around it, followed by a border of the original fabric.

More pics to follow shortly.

Sounds like a good border idea to me. This is one of those patterns I keep on the back burner to get to one day.

And here's a queen-size quilt I'm working on for our bedroom, which is purple and green. Strange combination, huh? It actually started out as a joke. We were trying to decide what color to paint the bedroom, and couldn't make up our minds. So I jokingly suggested that we paint it purple and green. And we did!

The quilt is paper-pieced, and is called Interwoven Diamonds. The pattern came from the Quilter's Cache website.

Here's a scrappy quilt I made a few years ago for my dad. I used patriotic prints. The center is the emblem for the U.S. Army. My dad served in Vietnam. In fact, I was born when he was over there.

Last pic for now. This one's just a simple quilt that I'll probably donate to Project Linus, which I also learned about through this forum. It's got dogs and cats on it (flannel), and the batik is regular cotton. It's nothing fancy, but it got rid of some scraps. ;)

littlehud 05-30-2010 12:58 PM

Wow, your quilts are beautiful. You have been busy. Thanks for sharing.

Great Job on all of them

seamstress 05-30-2010 01:10 PM

Love all of your quilts.

moonrise 05-30-2010 01:15 PM

Thanks, everyone!

On cutting the dolphin fabric ...

Hubby picked it out for me at Walmart, knowing I'd love the pattern. He bought the rest of the bolt, 6+ yards.

The next thing you know, he's on the phone with his mom, "complaining" how he spent $26 on fabric only to have me cut most of it up into 3" triangles!

(He wasn't really complaining, but admitted he was leery of how the quilt would turn out. He shushed when he saw the outcome! )

It's great to have a hubby who supports my habits ... er ... hobbies!

Yes, it came from Walmart, and reads:

Printed By David Textiles, Inc. under license from Printex Fabrics, Inc.

:)

Thanks so much for the comments! I appreciate the feedback. :)

nursie76 05-30-2010 06:29 PM

All of you quilts are wonderful! I love the OBW extra much! I so want to make one. Have the book, the ruler and fabric that I think will work. Now if I can just get the nerve to take the plunge!

Thanks for sharing.

MN QUILTLADY 05-30-2010 07:00 PM

Thanks for sharing all of those beautiful quilts. I think I like the purple and green the best, My favorite color is purple. I have thought of pink and purple or beige and purple but now I really like your combination.

CAROLJ 05-30-2010 08:36 PM

A black border will really set off the body. good looking quilt.

MegsAnn 05-30-2010 09:03 PM

Love the pix! You've done some great work.

earthwalker 05-30-2010 09:12 PM

Moonrise that OBW is stunning (yet another one for my "list")...thanks for letting us see the fabric too, it just adds to the "wonder" of the design when it's put together. Love all your quilts, purple and green is a stunning combo...what more can I say...you have great ability and style!

dkabasketlady 05-30-2010 10:16 PM

Wow! You've been very busy! I love the purple & green quilt, great color choices! I would have thrown some blue in with it! I made a six-foot square single crochet afghan for an extra credit project for High School home-ec and used those 3 colors. First time crocheting(I do it all the time now) and I got an A++ for it and still have it to this day in my spare bedroom, that's the colors for the bedroom! You have great tastes in your fabric choices on all your quilts!!
I also love your OBW quilt, another quilt on my to do list!!
