Love your quilts, thanks for sharing. Did you buy your Juki locally or order it from internet, if so what company did you order from? I've been thinking about a new machine w/a knee lift, thread cutter and bobbin low warning, we don't have a local Juki dealer so I'd like your input.

Thanks,
Marie M.

You have a gift for choosing fabrics from different lines and making it all work.. I love that. May I ask...Are you an overachiever....or do you just quilt and have no need of sleep.

ging10ging 04-21-2012 10:29 AM

Thanks! I like to keep a lot of different things on hand, and just work on whatever strikes my fancy at the moment.

MarieM, I bought my Juki at sewingmachinesplus.com- they had a package deal with a $50 gift card and a bunch of needles and bobbins, and their customer service was excellent. The 2000 doesn't have a low bobbin warning, which I would have liked but I'm really happy with it otherwise, it's so much better than my last machine.

I used a ruler to draw out the diagonal lines, then free handed it with a frixion pen. I looked forever for a stencil with the design I wanted (figured it'd be a simple thing to find), then just decided to do it myself.

Raggiemom 04-23-2012 05:31 AM

You're getting a lot done, congratulations!

GramaLaura 04-23-2012 06:39 AM

All so bright and happy!!! Your works are wonderful :)

homecaregiver 04-23-2012 08:43 AM

Great work Hemlock Tea. I love the quilts especially the one made with Cherish Nature fabric, the colors are really nice, what is the pattern called or what is the size of the blocks in the quilt. I also like very much the one that is the Bertha Pattern. Your quilting is really good. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing these with us.

The blocks for the Cherish Nature Quilt are 5"- I had a random charm pack my mom gave me, and added in unbleached muslin; the outer borders are 3", and the inner border I think was 1".
