While I have been quilting for awhile, the majority of my learning has been trial and error from a friend just telling me stuff to do over the phone initially or looking in awe at some of the stuff she had done and went home and tried it....I'd say a good portion of time has been spent building a stash, because I LOVE...I mean LOVE fabric and seemed to spend more time buying than doing anything for awhile. Below is some of my work.

The first "class" I ever took was to learn how to do this! finally completed 8/2010

Finally I get to see a quilt using batiks - what a gorgeous quilt - and the quilt work just adds alot of dimension . I am very impressed!!! Where did you get pattern and was it hard?

The memory quilt is so unique - You should be very proud and the love you put into it really shows. Love it!

In fact I didnt see anything I didnt like - thanks so much for sharing. Puts me to shame - I havent ventured out past the large block quilts yet lol I am truly a beginner!!!

Thanks for sharing your great talent!! Cant wait to get to sewing!!

The pattern for the bargello is the Twisted Bargello by Chris Timmons (I think I spelled her name correctly). It was a request by mom when we saw it in my now LQS. I searched high and low to find the pattern, bought it and couldn't figure out for the life of me how to do it! Luckily the quilt shop I got it from had a class!! I'm collecting fabric for another one!! The pictoral quilt was indeed a labor of love....another one I had no idea what I was doing, but figured it out as I went along...with many errors and redos...LOL!!

Hi Linda~
It's a key hanger or coat hook or even those mug holders...I saw this done at an IKEA to hang a rug on the wall....those are drapery rings to hold it up. I wish I had gotten just one more b/c both ends of this quilt....about a queen size...is folded back a little.

Have you thought about quilting the mariners compass, then putting the cathedral windows around it?
Your quilts are wonderful.
