The first picture is an appliqued hearts quilt. I love doing applique. Next is an embroidery that has been framed and hangs on our bedroom wall along with a couple of other crinoline ladies. Next is a crazy patch cushion made for a raffle. Unfortunately I didn't win it back.

I admire anyone who can do applique. It's beautiful.I tried it but could not get the hang of it. Wish I could afford a class.

Then here is another one made recently.

I fell in love at firdst sight with the heart quilt, thought the lady was charming, and then ewas knocked over with the pillows! I loved the different heart shapes, did you have a pattern for them , or draw them yourself? Would love the pattern!

I love them all so much. I love to do hand embroidery, love the hearts and flowers and am planning to take a class on how to do the elaborate crazy quilting. They are all so very pretty. Very inspiring.

I have to confess that this was a kit but I have used the heart shapes and embroidery designs in other things since. If you want to search for Ann Gadsby Designs (am I allowed to put a link?) you will see some lovely work with hearts and roses.

Oooh love the hearts quilt.

The cushion - this is an easy way of doing crazy patch. Start in the centre with a five sided piece then starting by attaching about a 2.5 inch wide piece to one side, stitching and flipping over, work your way around adding pieces as you go. The trick is not to end up with a very long seam. Add lace, ribbon etc to catch it in the next seam, do some embroidery, beadwork etc. when finished.
