The following pictures are quilts that I currently have. For a long time I didn't have a digital camera so many I have given away I don't have pics of. I will do a better job of the quilts I make in the future!

I don't have a good place to hang so I photo them on a bed.

A scrappy Irish chain, second picture is of the quilting done by my sis.

Love your scrappy Irish chain! Just visited the "sorting scraps" thread, and this would be a great one for sorting your scraps!

Marjpf 01-21-2010 03:12 PM

Both are beautiful and I love your sisters quilting.

rootyr 01-21-2010 03:13 PM

They are lovely!

What a lovely Irish Chain. You have inspired me to make a scrappy one. That flannel is nice also...and I bet, so cozy!

quilt addict 01-21-2010 04:26 PM

Lovely, I would keep them too. They look great on a bed as they were designed to be!

Lockeb 01-21-2010 04:27 PM

And I certainly would have kept them as well..... :-)

That pattern is actually a pantagraph, she was just learning and I gave her artistic freedom!

It is so soft, especially since it has been washed several times. Since the young lady has moved to Austin and doesn't need it any more I am actually contemplating taking out the ties and utility quilting it. (larger stitches, especially good for flannel quilts when quilting by hand.)

mysacrifice 01-21-2010 04:32 PM

I love that first quilt!

Barb M 01-21-2010 11:21 PM

There was no rhyme or reason to the colors, I have some colors in the quilt that are ugly but are small enough you can't tell!

Justquilting 01-22-2010 05:29 AM

The scrappy Irish Chain is gorgeous.
Might have to be the next one I do!

Ms Grace 01-22-2010 05:39 AM

They are beautiful.
The scrappy Irish chain is my favorite! :)
I might have to copy that one.

Rina 01-22-2010 06:53 AM

Big WOW!!! Nice colors. Tell your sis she did a good job too.

Marcia 01-22-2010 09:23 AM

Your scrappy Irish Chain is gorgeous and lucky you that your sister quilted it for you. A real family heirloom.

Judith 01-23-2010 07:58 PM

Love, love, love your Irish chain! I am definitely going to have to make one. I've been drooling over them for about a year and a half, just haven't worked up the courage to try one. You did an awesome job. Congrats.

dakotamaid 01-24-2010 05:27 AM

The Irish Chain is not hard to piece. While I did my scrappy just using a sketch Eleanor Burns has an excellent method.

MaryAnna 01-24-2010 06:49 AM

Just gorgeous! and your sister is talented as well! The dynamic duo of quilting!
Kind Regards,
MaryAnna

Here is the Irish chain I did for my daughters girlfriend last summer. Her colors were black, red and white for the wedding.

I wasn't too thrilled working with black but I found this black with white twinkling stars on it and loved it. The quilt was wrinkled from being in a box so the quilting doesn't show up well. My quilter did a large star in the white part and did a chain with stars in it in the "chain". It turned out much prettier than the pics show.

Excuse my living room, I don't always straighten up when I;m busy quilting!!

Rachel 02-09-2010 07:57 AM

both are beautiful... one of these days I'm going to attempt a log cabin, but the irish chain is amazing... Great work!!!

kd124 02-09-2010 11:23 AM

The Irish Chain is gorgeous. One of my favorite color combos is the red, black and white. Love the star quilting.
