Leslie you sounded like me in your post. I keep reading and reading when I ought too get busy. I am afraid I will miss something important.

Terrific examples of string piecing- I agree with whoever said that you kept it calm and attractive. The use of the neutrals in between helps, I think. Love em all!

What a super idea, my Patchwork class Ladies would love this idea, where did you get the patterns for those gorgeous quilts please?
|
Great way to use bits and pieces. I would never have thought to use them on curtains too. Very creative.
|
Your scrap bin must be empty! Your projects are all great. I NEED TO DO THIS with all my scraps! Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.
|
I am a big fan of string piecing and kudos on all the wonderful templates & blocks you used to make your creations. I love it when I see "one of a kind" quilts that no one else can duplicate.
Keep up the wonderful mosaic style. Moosegirl |
yeah, I don't get it either.....I kind of understand the paper keeping the material 'in check' so it doesn't shift all over however, I don't get why you would fold the paper and do you tear it off after you're done stitching? I guess I need more info.....

Great projects!! Love the scraps!

The best paper to use is barely heavier than tissue paper - - or, you can replace the paper with lightweight fabric (old worn out sheets or ...), trace the pattern and stitch as usual, but do not take the fabric out. Most people do not take the paper off their blocks until they are ready to stitch them into the quilt. <wave> |

if you look closely, you will see that the white parts are actually triangles sewn on the sides of the pieced strips, then the whole thing is squared .... then, turn the blocks this way and that and you don't have all the white in one square. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-59742-1.htm how cool is this??? Here is the technique I am talking about, and I found it right here on the Quilting Board - - we are just soooo lucky! <wave> |

Well I made this today in just an hour or so, it will become a Project Linus quilt with some bright sashing and cornerstones added.
Thank you so much for the tip as using the till roll gives a really super usable measurement. http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/19...425x425Q85.jpg    |
